NFL Player News - Week of 4/9/18

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

Giants | G-men not high on Josh Rosen
UCLA QB Josh Rosen isn't a target for the New York Giants, according to an NFL talent evaluator.

Giants | Sam Darnold wanted by Giants
USC QB Sam Darnold will be taken by the New York Giants if he's available at No. 2 in the NFL draft, according to an NFL talent evaluator.

Patriots | Orleans Darkwa visiting Patriots
Free-agent RB Orleans Darkwa (Giants) is visiting the New England Patriots Monday, April 9, according to a source.

Falcons | Atlanta checking out several prospects
The Atlanta Falcons sent several members of their front office to North Carolina State's pro day Saturday, April 7, focusing on DT B.J. Hill, RB Nyheim Hines, RB Jaylen Samuels and DT Tony Adams.
Footballguys view: Hines would be an interesting situation to monitor if the Falcons picked him up. There's some Curtis Samuel (Panthers) to his game as Hines can line up as a receiver or make dynamic plays from the backfield. Samuels was his backfield mate for the Wolfpack, but he's a larger back (225 pounds) who can grind or catch passes. Both backs should go off the board in the third or fourth round of the 2018 NFL draft.

Buccaneers | Tampa Bay to meet with Ryan Green
Florida State RB Ryan Green has a meeting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers scheduled for next week, according to a source.

Redskins | Jamison Crowder already training
Washington Redskins WR Jamison Crowder has been working with Duke football strength and conditioning coach Noel Durfey this offseason to increase his explosiveness. 'That's why I've been here working, grinding with coach Durfey and the sprint staff,' Crowder said. 'I've been working running routes, getting back into the groove of things before we start OTAs.'

Giants | Saquon Barkley pays NY Giants a visit
Penn State RB Saquon Barkley is meeting with the New York Giants on Sunday, April 8.

Patriots | Derrius Guice visiting New England
Louisiana State RB Derrius Guice is meeting with the New England Patriots on Sunday, April 8.

Giants | Odell Beckham headed to New York on Monday
New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. is reportedly planning on being at the team's facility Monday, April 9, for the first day of the team's offseason conditioning program to 'check in, work out in the gym and meet with some people,' according to ESPN's Josina Anderson.

    Tuesday Update

Dolphins | Miami to meet again with Dallas Goedert
Updating a previous report, the Miami Dolphins are scheduled to meet with South Dakota TE Dallas Goedert at team headquarters in the near future. The Dolphins reportedly flew to South Dakota last week to put Goedert through a private workout.
Footballguys view: Goedert is one of the best move tight ends in this class. He moves well for a 6'5" 255 pound man and has great concentration when the pass is coming in. Goedert can make one-handed catches all day, but blocking is a bit of a work in progress. He should be a first- or second-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

NFL | Three teams get closer look at Michael Gallup
Updating a previous story, Colorado State WR Michael Gallup worked out privately with the Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans in addition to taking a top-30 visit with the Baltimore Ravens earlier this month.
Footballguys view: Gallup was incredibly productive in college for the Rams. He's known to make difficult catches seem routine, and Gallup does a good job of winning contested catches. Gallup is likely to be a second-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

Jets | Baker Mayfield destined to be a Jet?
University of Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield is reportedly the target of the New York Jets with the third overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, assuming USC QB Sam Darnold has already been selected by that point, according to a 'good number' of league insiders interviewed by Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline.
Footballguys view: Lock it in....at least that's what it seems like with the draft just a little over two weeks away. Mayfield to the Jets has been a 'thing' for some time now, and it doesn't seem like he'll get past no.3 overall. The rookie is hyper competitive and could start from day one for the Jets.

NFL | Two teams had early interest in Jeremy Maclin
Free-agent WR Jeremy Maclin (Ravens) received 'preliminary inquiries' from the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles before both teams opted to sign other receivers, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson, who also reports Maclin is training in Philadelphia and Baltimore while 'waiting for the right fit.'
Footballguys view: The 80-catch seasons are a thing of the past for Maclin. His play has been declining but there might be a team willing to take a chance on him for veteran depth. The Ravens released Maclin in March and they've revamped their WR corps with guys like John Brown and Michael Crabtree.

Seahawks | Sebastian Janikowski to visit Seattle
Free-agent PK Sebastian Janikowski (Raiders) will visit the Seattle Seahawks Tuesday, April 10, according to a source.

Seahawks | Nick Vannett may have bigger role
Seattle Seahawks TE Nick Vannett is in line for a bigger role on offense since TE Luke Willson signed with the Detroit Lions during free agency.
Footballguys view: A third-round pick out of Ohio State in 2016, Vannett hasn't done much as a pro. He's snared 15 catches for 156 yards and one touchdown in 23 games in the NFL. Vannett has the ability to line up all over the field, in the slot or as an in-line tight end. His routes need some work, but he's got the wingspan and strong hands to be a quality receiver. Dynasty owners take note.

Seahawks | Mike Davis to work with starters
Seattle Seahawks RB Mike Davis will work with the first-team offense once offseason workouts begin, according to head coach Pete Carroll.
Footballguys view: A fourth-round pick (49ers) out of South Carolina in 2015, Davis has always had the natural running talent and instincts to be a quality ball-carrier in the pros. He flashed a bit at the end of the 2017 season for the Seahawks and it will be interesting to see how this backfield shapes up for the new year. With such a fine class of rookie RBs coming into the NFL, expect Seattle to select one in the draft.

Colts | Andrew Luck has not thrown football yet
Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck (shoulder) said he has not thrown a regular football at this point because he does not want to skip any steps in his rehab. He said he trusts the process he is going through with his recovery.
    Footballguys view
: It's an alarming headline to be sure, but for now we'll trust the process as well. So long as there are no setbacks, Luck is scheduled to be ready for the start of training camp. That being said, expect the Colts to ease him back into action once they can.

    Wednesday Update

Colts | Mark Thompson to visit Colts
Florida RB Mark Thompson will visit the Indianapolis Colts next week.

Jets | Mark Thompson visiting Jets
Florida RB Mark Thompson is visiting the New York Jets Wednesday, April 11, according to a source.

Dolphins | Hayden Hurst meets with Dolphins
South Carolina TE Hayden Hurst had dinner with the Miami Dolphins Tuesday, April 10, and has a top 30 visit with them Wednesday, April 11.

    Eagles | Richard Rodgers financials
Philadelphia Eagles TE Richard Rodgers signed a one-year contract worth $880,000 with a $45,000 signing bonus and $200,000 of his $790,000 base salary guaranteed.

Saints | Lamar Jackson visits New Orleans
University of Louisville QB Lamar Jackson met with the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday, April 10.

Titans | Michael Campanaro headed to Tennessee
Free-agent WR Michael Campanaro (Ravens) agreed to 1-year deal with the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday, April 10. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Giants | Mark Walton paying a visit to NY Giants
University of Miami (Fla.) RB Mark Walton is meeting with the New York Giants on Tuesday, April 10.
Footballguys view: The Giants added Jonathan Stewart this offseason in free agency, but the need for an upgrade at the RB position remains. Walton is an interesting sleeper in this talented RB draft class. While in college, Walton reminded some in the scouting community of former Canes star Clinton Portis. Walton measures in at 205 pounds and can create mismatches in space due to his athleticism and natural running instincts. He's considered to be a fourth-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

Broncos | Recent C.J. Anderson trade nixed by Miami?
The Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins reportedly had a verbal agreement in place to trade RB C.J. Anderson for OT Ja'Wuan James before the Dolphins 'surprisingly nixed' the deal, according to Denver 7's Troy Renck.
Footballguys view: This was known for some time but it's getting out there a bit more. Anderson has been on the trade block since the Scouting Combine at least, but there have been no takers for his services. There's a chance he remains with the team at a $4.5 million price tag, but it may be more likely the Broncos move on with a RB drafted with a premium pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

Panthers | Calvin Ridley to visit Panthers
Alabama WR Calvin Ridley will visit the Carolina Panthers Wednesday, April 11.
    Footballguys view
: It's not a great WR class but Ridley is seen as a first-round pick as he may be the best of the bunch. Ridley ran the full route tree in college and knows the nuances of getting open. He struggled with drops during his college career (20 drops in three seasons) and can get disrupted by physical corners at the line of scrimmage. The Panthers are continuing to look for improved weapons around QB Cam Newton.

    Thursday Update

    Packers | Ty Montgomery bigger
Green Bay Packers RB Ty Montgomery is bigger and stronger, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. Montgomery said he's focused on staying healthy this season.

Saints | Cameron Meredith says he'll be 100 percent
Updating a previous report, New Orleans WR Cameron Meredith's (knee) offer sheet was not matched by the Chicago Bears 'reportedly' due to concerns over the health of his knee. However, Meredith said that he sees himself 'being 100 percent for at least the season,' with training camp being his goal. The Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts also expressed interest in the wide receiver.

Browns | Cleveland not meeting with two top prospects
Penn State RB Saquon Barkley and North Carolina State DE Bradley Chubb are not scheduled to meet with the Cleveland Browns before the 2018 NFL Draft because the team is comfortable with the medical reports and character of both players, according to sources.

Texans | James Washington works out for Texans
Oklahoma State WR James Washington participated in a private workout with the Houston Texans Wednesday, April 11.

Cowboys | Dallas works out James Washington
Oklahoma State WR James Washington participated in a private workout with the Dallas Cowboys Tuesday, April 10.

Steelers | Contract updates for several players
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Stevan Ridley, WR Justin Hunter, RB Fitzgerald Toussaint, DT Daniel McCullers and SS Nat Berhe are all scheduled to receive a base salary of $790,000 in 2018.

Cardinals | David Johnson has high hopes for offense
Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson said he believes the Cardinals can have the top offense in the NFL in 2018 if QB Sam Bradford can stay healthy.

Dolphins | Josh Allen to meet with MIA
Wyoming QB Josh Allen is scheduled to have a pre-draft visit with the Miami Dolphins Thursday, April 12, and Friday, April 13, according to a source.

Dolphins | Luke Falk to visit
Washington State QB Luke Falk is scheduled to meet with the Miami Dolphins this week.

Dolphins | Miami interested in Rashaad Penny
San Diego State RB Rashaad Penny is a player that the Miami Dolphins would like to meet with before the 2018 NFL Draft.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant to meet with Dallas soon
Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant will meet with owner Jerry Jones in the next few days. A potential pay cut and Bryant's future with the Cowboys are expected to be discussed.
    Footballguys view
: Bryant has a $16.5 million cap number in 2018 with $8 million in dead money. The team wants to lower that price tag and Bryant is likely to be hesitant to do that for them. Jones doesn't want to cut Bryant but he may have no choice in the matter if things take a turn for the worse in these discussions.

    Friday Update

All of the news around the league over the last week that will affect your fantasy leagues

    AFC

    BUFFALO

Offensive lineman Richie Incognito retired from the NFL after 13 seasons.
Why It Matters: The Bills have now lost or traded three of their five starting offensive linemen from 2017, and arguably their three best. AJ McCarron will likely open the year as their starting quarterback and the team has one proven wide receiver on the roster. LeSean McCoy is going to have an uphill battle to remain among the league’s top rushers.

    CLEVELAND

Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network reports “people familiar with the Browns thinking” expect them to take Wyoming QB Josh Allen with the first pick.
Why It Matters: USC’s Sam Darnold had been the consensus choice for the Browns until recently, but Allen was always mentioned as the other possibility. Some draft analysts are reporting that the Browns are putting this information out there, which could be because no one can stop them from taking who they want, but it also could be an effort to induce a team to trade up to the Giants pick at #2 with the belief that Darnold will be there. We should know the identity of their pick before the draft.

The Browns signed WR Jarvis Landry to a five-year, 75.5 million dollar deal with 47 million guaranteed.
Why It Matters: It might seem like a lot for a slot receiver who does most of his work within ten yards of the line of scrimmage, but Landry also bring tone-setting leadership and physical intensity to a Browns offense that lost future Hall of Famer Joe Thomas to retirement this offseason. He’s unlikely to put up the numbers that made him a PPR WR1/WR2 in Miami during his rookie contract, but Landry should be the top pass catcher for the Browns, albeit with a small passing pie to split up with Tyrod Taylor or a rookie at the helm.

    INDIANAPOLIS

QB Andrew Luck revealed that he’s yet to throw a regulation-sized NFL football in his recovery.
    Why It Matters:
The news out of the Colts camp had been mostly positive regarding Luck’s recovery, but this should cause pause. At least Luck is talking to the media and he emphasized that he is staying on the schedule after possibly rushing his progress last year and ending up missing the season. Luck’s return and projecting his teammates as if he’ll play 16 games and be most of his old self remains a “we’ll believe it when we see it” situation

    MIAMI

According to Denver 7’s Troy Renck, the Dolphins backed out of a Ja’Wuan James for C.J. Anderson deal at the last second.
Why It Matters: The Dolphins want to get a between the tackles back to take some of the work off of Kenyan Drake’s plate, and Anderson has a fan in the building in head coach Adam Gase. There was some speculation that the Broncos would release Anderson or ask him to take a pay cut, but so far that hasn’t happened yet. If Saquon Barkley falls to the #5, we could see him available to the Dolphins for free after the draft.

    NEW ENGLAND

The Patriots signed WR Jordan Matthews (Buffalo) to a one-year deal for one million dollars with 170,000 guaranteed.
Why It Matters: Matthews could make something out of the opportunity opened up in the Patriots wide receiver corps by the Brandin Cooks trade, although he’ll operate mainly out of the slot - if he makes the team. His low pay indicates that he will be in battle for a spot with Kenny Britt, Phillip Dorsett, Malcolm Mitchell, and Cordarrelle Patterson. He could have fantasy relevance if he makes the team and one of Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman or Chris Hogan misses time, but he’s not worth a pick in early drafts.

Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report reports that the Patriots are the team most interested in Louisville QB Lamar Jackson.
Why It Matters: We will be on Tom Brady future replacement watch during the draft, and Jackson would be intriguing indeed. His fantasy ceiling is higher than any quarterback in this draft because of his running ability, and if Josh McDaniels gets to mold an offense around Jackson, he’ll maximize his potential as a passer too. Jackson might not be available by the time the Patriots first first-round pick is on the clock at #23, but they have the picks on the first and second day to move up if they have determined they want Jackson to be their future starting quarterback.

    NEW YORK JETS

The Jets signed LB Kevin Minter and WR Charles Johnson.
Why It Matters: Johnson had a chance to earn a role with the Panthers last year, but ended up on injured reserve. He had the measureables and hype to generate some fantasy value earlier in his career, although he’s a longshot to make the Jets roster as one of 17 options to make the team at this moment.

The Jets have scheduled a visit with USC QB Sam Darnold.
Why It Matters: The Jets reportedly did not think Darnold would be the board when they select at #3, but now perhaps they have information that changed their belief. That could be linked to the Browns reported interest in Wyoming QB Josh Allen. Perhaps they are just covering all of their bases at this late point in the draft process, but teams don’t use precious resources and time unless they see some possibility of taking a player or otherwise gaining something from the visit. It is possible that the Jets are simply gathering information on a player they could face in the future.

    OAKLAND

Raiders EDGE Khalil Mack did not report for the open of the team’s offseason program.
    Why It Matters:
Mack is far and away the best player on the Raiders defense, which has deficiencies at multiple positions. He is reportedly seeking 65 million dollars guaranteed, and with the scarcity of edge rushers and his caliber of play, Mack has earned it. The Raiders need to handle this correctly, as they can’t afford to enter Week 1 with Mack holding out and still expect to be effective at all when they are defending the pass.

    TENNESSEE

According to Tony Pauline, the Titans canceled a draft visit with Boise State LB Leighton Vander Esch.
Why It Matters: The Titans pick 25th, so pencil Vander Esch in your top 24 picks of mock drafts. There has been speculation that he could go as high as #13 to Washington, and Detroit at #20 is also possible. Vander Esch is physically gifted and he grew a lot as a player in 2017 after coming up as an eight-man football star in Idaho. He can handle coverage responsibilities and be a stout linebacker vs the run. The Titans could turn to Alabama’s Rashaan Evans if they are looking for an off-ball linebacker in the first round.

    NFC

    ARIZONA

EDGE Markus Golden could move to defensive end this season, as head coach Steve Wilks confirmed that they will move to a 4-3 defensive scheme this season.
Why It Matters: Golden and Chandler Jones will gain value in IDP leagues with the move to defensive end, and Jones will be one of the most valuable IDPs if he can maintain his production. Jones and Golden have both played with their hands on the ground before, so the transition shouldn’t be too rough for either, although Golden is coming back from an ACL tear.

    CAROLINA

The NFL suspended LB Thomas Davis for four games under the league policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
Why It Matters: The team was reportedly going to exercise their fifth-year option on Shaq Thompson this offseason, so Thompson could complete the changing of the guard at linebacker during Davis’s missed games. He’ll be an underrated player in IDP drafts.

    CHICAGO

The Bears declined to match New Orleans offer to WR Cam Meredith.
Why It Matters: The Bears signed Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel this offseason, but 2015 first-round bust Kevin White is probably the best candidate to line up outside opposite Robinson with Meredith gone. GM Ryan Pace’s decision to tender Meredith at the original round level and save one million dollars left Meredith unprotected and induced an offer sheet. The team has reportedly had concerns about the recovery of his knee since October and Meredith would not put a timetable on his return, so this might have been more about his physical condition than a lack of belief in his level of play. Meredith’s departure should free up targets for Tarik Cohen out of the backfield and the tight end duo of Trey Burton and Adam Shaheenunless the team makes another move or spends a draft pick at wide receiver.

    DALLAS

Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reports that some Cowboys coaches think WR Dez Bryant’s physical gifts started slipping in 2015 and he hasn’t done enough to change his game, and while the inability to sign Sammy Watkins probably “saved Bryant’s place on the roster”, it is “not crazy” to think he could still be released. He and owner Jerry Jones will meet on Friday, April 13.
Why It Matters: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport believes the team will ask Bryant to take a pay cut, but that he will be with the team in 2018. This one has been up in the air all offseason, and it could remain uncertain even after this meeting if Bryant doesn’t take the pay cut and the team drafts a wide receiver like Alabama’s Calvin Ridley or Maryland’s DJ Moore in the first round. Bryant would certainly get signed and start elsewhere, but it is clear that he isn’t the player he was at his peak.

    DETROIT

The Lions will give 2017 fourth-round TE Michael Roberts a larger role this season.
Why It Matters: The Lions don’t have a go-to receiver in the red zone and that was one of Roberts’ specialties at Toledo. He could creep onto the radar as a bye week/injury replacement, cheap DFS matchup option, or matchup play for tight end streamers if all goes well in his development.

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press expects the Lions to use a running back by committee this season.
Why It Matters: This isn’t really a change from previous years, but the team does have an upgrade between the tackles and in short yardage in LeGarrette Blount, and they could force fewer touches to Ameer Abdullah this season. The Lions might take a running back in the first round if LSU’s Derrius Guice is there, and are strong candidates to take a running back on the second day and further complicate this situation.

    NEW ORLEANS

The Saints signed RFA WR Cameron Meredith (Chicago) to a two-year, 9.6 million dollar contract with 5.4 million guaranteed.
Why It Matters: Meredith’s timetable to return is unknown by his own admission, so we shouldn’t get too excited about his prospects with the Saints just yet. 2019 might be the emphasis of this deal with 33-year-old Ted Ginn as the #2 receiver this year. Meredith appeared to be a rising star before his preseason knee injury, and he could be very productive with Drew Brees once he’s back to full speed, as long as the team doesn’t take a tight end early that will develop into a primary downfield target. This is good for Meredith’s fantasy stock, but it does raise the possibility that he won’t be back to the level he was at before his ACL/MCL tear.

    NEW YORK GIANTS

Ralph Vacchiano of SNY reports that a trade of WR Odell Beckham Jr. is “highly unlikely”. Beckham reported to the team for the start of their offseason program on Monday, April 9.
Why It Matters: This offseason headline has come and gone without any earth-shattering developments. Beckham is still a top three fantasy receiver even with Eli Manning as his quarterback, although it would brighten his future outlook if the Giants take a quarterback at #2. The team could still decide to refrain from signing him to a long-term extension, and there were rumors that Beckham wouldn’t play this year unless he had an extension, so there could be another chapter to this drama yet, but for now the Beckham beat is quiet.

Eli Manning said he and the team have not discussed his status past 2018.
Why It Matters: This is consistent with the Giants taking a quarterback at #2. Manning replaced Kurt Warner mid-season in his rookie year, and it’s very possible Manning will be replaced mid-season by a rookie this year. He probably won’t have a last chapter nearly as bright as Warner’s, but if Manning isn’t starting for the Giants next year and still wants to play in the NFL, he’ll be starting somewhere.

Safety Landon Collins needs a second surgery on his broken forearm.
Why It Matters: Collins was one of the few bright spots on the defense last year. They traded away Jason Pierre-Paul, so the Giants need Collins’ playmaking ability even more. He’s still on schedule to be ready to play this season, but this recovery is already off track, so it merits more monitoring this spring and summer.

    SAN FRANCISCO

Linebacker Reuben Foster was charged with felony domestic violence on Thursday, April 12.
Why It Matters: He is facing up to 11 years in jail and other charges, so this could be curtains for Foster, and not just with the 49ers. The team has said his “place in the organization is under great scrutiny”, and it’s difficult to imagine him catching on with another team if he is found guilty of the felony charge. Foster’s play last year made him look like a steal at the end of the first, but it’s obvious now why he was still available.

    SEATTLE

The Seahawks signed CB Dontae Johnson (San Francisco).
Why It Matters: Johnson was a starter for the 49ers last year, but he was one of the worst starting cornerbacks in the league. He has the length and style of play the Seahawks value in the secondary, but the fact that it’s possible that Johnson will start for them shows just how far and quickly this secondary and defense has fallen.

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) said he would like to sign with a team in the NFC East. 'I won't say any teams, but being in the division, that's a huge possibility. That's a huge possibility. That's something that I want. ... It's personal. Like I said, it's very personal. I already had a plan of training and getting my mind right. I just want to do it that much more,' Bryant said.

Bears | Chicago signing Bennie Fowler
Free-agent WR Bennie Fowler (Broncos) agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears Friday, April 13, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Fowler had an opportunity to be the Broncos no.3 WR last year but he didn't do much. In 2017, he did set a career high with 29 receptions for 350 yards and three touchdowns. With the Bears, Fowler should compete for the 4th spot on the depth chart behind guys like Allen Robinson, Kevin White and Taylor Gabriel.

    NFL | Mark Sanchez suspended
Free-agent QB Mark Sanchez (Bears) has been suspended for the first four games of the 2018 season for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
Footballguys view: This isn't going to help his chances of latching on with a new team. Sanchez spent last year as the no.3 QB in Chicago and will be looking for a spot with a new team later in the season. He says a supplement mix up caused the hot test.

Steelers | Christian Kirk meets with Pittsburgh
Texas A&M WR Christian Kirk had a pre-draft visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers Friday, April 13.
Footballguys view: The Steelers have a knack for finding WR talent through the NFL draft. Kirk is considered a late first round or early second round pick. While in college with the Aggies, Kirk displayed incredible quickness, strong hands and good concentration. No matter where he lands, Kirk should become a favorite target of his quarterback.

Seahawks | Seattle adds Sebastian Janikowski
Free-agent PK Sebastian Janikowski (Raiders) agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks Friday, April 13, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: A first-round pick of the Raiders in 2000, Janikowski has spent his entire career with one franchise. He gets a fresh start in Seattle after spending all of last year on Injured Reserve in Oakland.

Seahawks | J.D. McKissic signs tender
Seattle Seahawks exclusive rights free-agent RB J.D. McKissic signed his one-year tender offer Friday, April 13. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: ERFAs don't really have a choice. It's either play for their team or choose not to play football. McKissic is going to be in the mix of Seattle's backfield, and he could be more than a change-of-pace back. Expect the Seahawks to add a RB in the 2018 NFL draft as well.

    Chargers | Two Chargers waived
Los Angeles Chargers RB Kenneth Farrow and PK Nick Rose were waived Friday, April 13.

Redskins | Washington not looking at Dez Bryant
Free-agent WR Dez Bryant is not an option for the Washington Redskins at this point, according to sources.
    Footballguys view
: Washington has revamped their WR corps yet again this offseason, letting Terrelle Pryor walk and adding speedster Paul Richardson. Bryant isn't the same player he used to be, and Washington seems content to let him sign elsewhere.

NFL | Nyheim Hines brings versatility
North Carolina State RB Nyheim Hines said he believes he is the 'most explosive player' in the 2018 NFL Draft and the most versatile running back. 'I don't think anyone else can handle kick and punt return duties in addition to what I did as a runner and pass catcher, I even played gunner on special teams,' Hines said.

Patriots | Pats too cheap for Danny Amendola
Miami Dolphins WR Danny Amendola said New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick's unwillingness to give him a competitive offer caused him to sign with the Dolphins in free agency. 'When free agency broke, I came to the realization that he wasn't going to really come close to any of the other offers I had,' Amendola said.

Dolphins | Kenyan Drake bulking up
Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake said Friday, April 13, that he has added more than five pounds this offseason to handle a full season as the starting back.

Patriots | New England targeting Mason Rudolph?
Oklahoma State QB Mason Rudolph is 'increasingly' being tied to the New England Patriots, according to Rob Rang of NFLDraftScout.com.

NFL | Lamar Jackson's stock falling?
Louisville QB Lamar Jackson could slide in the 2018 NFL Draft because there are questions about whether he can run an NFL offense, according to a scout. 'The entire offense is going to be built around him, so the owner, coaches and players already on the roster are going to have to buy in,' the scout said. 'If he gets past Arizona, he could slide, perhaps even all of the way out (of the first round).'

Bills | Buffalo to trade up for Baker Mayfield?
The Buffalo Bills will have to trade up if they want to select Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield, according to an NFL scout. 'If the Bills want him, they're going to have to come up to get him,' the scout said. 'I'll betcha he goes top five and I wouldn't be surprised if it is before some of those other guys.'

    NFL | Kenneth Farrow healthy
Free-agent RB Kenneth Farrow (Chargers) has recovered from the shoulder injury that sent him on the Reserve/Injured list this past season.
Footballguys view: Farrow has an all-purpose skill set, and that might earn him another shot with a different team after the Chargers let him go.
