Miami Dolphins' New Offense to Resemble Chip Kelly's in Philadelphia?

I am talking stylistically, not personnel wise! Their new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor was on Kelly's staff with the Eagles last season.

One Dolphins player told the Miami Herald new OC Bill Lazor's offense is "reminiscent of Chip Kelly’s offense in Philadelphia, with the tempo and style."

Lazor spent 2013 on Kelly's staff, so this isn't surprising. The Fins hope to be "multiple" and up tempo on offense, with the ability to play both three-receiver and multi-tight end sets. The 2013 Eagles threw 82 passes of 20 yards or more, completing 35 for 17 touchdowns and four picks. The 2013 Dolphins threw 66 20-plus-yard passes, completing 17 with a 3:7 TD-to-INT ratio.

Getting plays off quickly MIGHT be a way to cover up a bad offensive line though. Blocks would not need to be held as long.

No hope for Dolphins. They will finish below 500. Dan Lebatard said they need a new QB but that Philbin won't do it because it would be like admitting failure. Either way after this season they're both out.

The speed in which the play is called or run has nothing to do with the amount of time a lineman has to hold his block.

I don't know how Ryan tannehill isn't a real QB, he's a QB that really was not even suppose to start his first 2 years. He does need to improve his deep ball but out of all the young qbs he has been put in one of the worse situations. There oline should be massively improved with Albert an James manning the tackle positions an Shelly smith is a good fit at Guard. The other guard position should be easy to fill with young talent in Dallas Thomas or billy turner.

Mike Wallace also dropped several balls last year an tannehills number 1 target at the beginning of the year was Brandon Gibson who tore up his knee

Tannehill's ceiling is a slightly below average NFL qb, nothing more. Miami would be better off running 35 times a game and try deep play action to Wallace.

I love the no huddle fast pace tempo and believe more teams should do it. It works for phili, patriots, and Denver. Miami is smart to going to this Tannehill is going to be pretty good, they improved their oline with Albert and draft pick, and picked up Moreno. This team will be competitive in that AFC East.

Dolphins haven't finished above 8-8 since 2008 with the wildcat gimmick. We'll see how the new gimmick works.

I am a Dolphin fan and I have never thought Tannehill would be a useful NFL QB IMO he is an interception machine and was a 3rd round caliber QB drafted at #8. He had an excuse of a bad line and a mediocre receiver group, the line looks to be much better and there are enough receivers and they even have a viable RB (who can block, run, and catch) so now a failure will fall firmly on the head of Tanneshit.

there could be a couple high scoring games between these two teams this year if Miami can get the Kelly-like offense to work

Their best player was Jason taylor. And how many guys has chip kelly "let go"? Old slow Jason avant who's near the end of his career, and desean Jackson. Hardly call that letting a lot of guys go. Yes desean is a big deal but you make it sound like he lost half the team this offseason.
