Need Help At WR Now That Maclin Is Out

My nightmare has come true. Maclin is out. Missed out on some waivers on Amendola and LaFell (thank goodness). Here are my options:

    Boldin vs NE
    Jacoby Jones vs NE
    Avery vs JAC
    Collie vs JAC
    Randy Moss @ MIN
    Brandon Gibson @ CHI

Leaning towards Boldin in a favorable matchup at home against NE. I've looked back at Boldin's past games against NE, and he has played very well against NE before. I haven't paid too much attention to the Ravens offense this year, but is Boldin the #2 WR or is it Jacoby Jones?

I'd take either Boldin or Moss. I'm sure Moss is going to be pretty motivated playing agains the Vikings.

Boldin is the #2 WR in Baltimore right....not Jacoby Jones?

Correct. Some sites have A.Boldin listed as the #1.

Boldin or Avery. Jags secondary is torn up

    Avery

I think T Smith will see more passes along with Pitta.

Collie is still very limited, if he even plays.

I just read that the Ravens are lining up D.Pitta more as a WR then at TE. The way the Patriots use A.Hernandez.

So maybe A.Boldin isn't the best option for you.

Dennis Pitta - TE - Ravens

According to the Baltimore Sun, Ravens TE Dennis Pitta lined up as a wide receiver or slot receiver on more than two-thirds of his 51 Week 2 snaps.

Pitta didn't see a target on any of his 15 snaps as an in-line tight end. He did most of his fantasy damage out of the slot, where he was targeted on eight of 16 snaps. The Ravens are using Pitta similar to the Patriots' deployment of Aaron Hernandez (71.6 percent of 2011 snaps as wide receiver), forcing defenses to declare their coverage. It's an obvious boon to Pitta's fantasy value.

I'm hoping Collie doesn't get cleared to play tomorrow. If he is inactive, I'll have to really consider picking up Avery and starting him. But if Collie gets cleared, I can't imagine playing Avery when he won't be on the field on two wide-out sets.

I think Avery is your best choice here. Boldin would be my second choice.

I would go with Avery from the group. I don't see Collie playing this week.

I would go with Moss only because of motivation factor, Boldin should also be motivated along with that whole team so one of the two would be the same for me.

Boldin or Avery...Avery seems to be one of Luck's favorite targets early in the season.

That's what I'm thinking too. I have a feeling he's going to put up some big numbers tomorrow.

I would go with moss. The 9ers picked him up moss for red zone situations so if you catch him on the right week he could be worth some big points for you

    Boldin I say. Maybe Moss.

Brady is going to come out firing, watch. The Ravens are gonna need to throw the ball and score td's to keep up with the pats. Brady doesn't settle on prime time games for 17 14 final scores.

I think everyone that watches the NFL knows that Torrey Smith is by far the better WR at this point though.

Careful with starting Moss. He played in 21 of 62 snaps against the Packers and 16 of 63 snaps against the Lions last week. Roughly playing only in 30% of offensive plays the Niners have ran.

Clearly Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree are the only two receivers worth a look from SF at this time. You're really gambling and hoping that Moss will get a TD. He might, or he might only have one catch for 15 yards like last week.

I plan on playing Boldin. If Collie is announced out tomorrow, I'll probably switch to Avery, but it sounds like Collie will play.

Avery. He is Luck's favorite target this year. Last week, Avery was targeted 10 times, Reggie Wayne 7.

Avery would be my pick. Lots of targets he's great in PPR right now. Jags I think are 28th in league to giving up points to WRs but the statistic is misleading. Last week Houston focused hard on the running game either because that's their general preference or, more likely, because they blew out the Jags 1st half and just coasted to the win. If not Avery I'd lean Boldin.

I'd play Brandon Gibson just because I expect him to get a td. Moss or Boldin next. Not sure about how well Donnie Avery plays, but he has potential, too.

Even with Collie coming back? He'll be designated to only 3 wide out sets, which I can't imagine are a lot.

Collie is one good hit from his career being over, not sure how much playing time he will get even while starting.

Who did you end up going with? It looks like moss would not have been the right pick so it shows how much I know. Cant believe the vikings are owning the 9ers.

I'm down 13 with Mason Crosby left. This whole Maclin injury has really screwed me early on. At least Boldin did 2nd best on that list. Going to the Hawks game tomorrow, I'll be cheering on my Seahawks as well as Mason Crosby.
