bankroll amount question for 2012 CFB

I love college football and have been betting on it for a few years now but i've never actually followed bankroll management to a tee. I always get in over my head and throw too much on games for the wrong reasons and i've just never really been selective and patient enough. My friends that bet are all idiots and ii get sucked into their nonsense too often. This season i'm definitely ready to do this the right way and i'm wondering what you guys think my bankroll size should be. I'm in college so money isnt exactly flowing in at the moment but i've been working all summer and ive saved up a decent amount of money to where i can set aside some for solely football betting. I know its not much compared to alot of you dudes on here but I could probably afford like $700 to start out with. Is it even worth it with a roll that size or should i just not bother. I know my bets would be about $20 a game or so and i wouldnt make a killing but im not really trying to make thousands either. Just tryiina be realistic here and make some good spending money for school and shit. Lemme know what you guys think.

Unless you can buy in for 30-40k I wouldn't bother

Betting <$500/game is a waste of time

Saying you need bet at least $500 a game is absurd. I started out by betting around $50/game and was able to make enough money that i considered sufficient at the time. I'd say for you $100/game is probably where you should start. Let me break down how I'd play it if I were you.

First off, I would suggest betting every single game the exact same, maybe a double once in a while, but my general rule of thumb is to never bet more than 2x my standard unit. Since you've been victimized by "the chase" in the past, I'd say avoid doubles this season.

Second, your bank roll should be at least 8-10x your standard unit; you want to give yourself the ability to go down without being out, kinda like blackjack.

If I were you, what I'd do i scrap another $100 and call your bankroll $800. Make your standard unit $100 and plan to bet 8-10 games each weel MAX. It's easy to throw money at more than that but I've never had success stretching more than that. There's around 13 weeks of good betting before the bowls start, and let's say you end up betting 120 games, all at $110 ($10 for juice). Your goal should be to go 70-50 which would hit 58.3%; if you achieve this goal, you're going to payout $7000 for the wins, payout $5500 for the losses for a net of $1500. Average that out over 3 months and that's $500 per month in your pocket. If you think you can use that, then it's worth your time.

Hope that helps - check out my site I if you want any advice I usually hit 58-61%

Thanks alot man this helped alot. I think I can be selective enough where i bet that a mount per game and not have to seriously worry about one of those 0 and 8 streaks. I'm gonna do something very similar to what you suggested, thank you.

Um....... if you listen to conference chalk you will definitely go broke by week three of the regular season. Betting $100 per game with a bankroll of $800 is sure doom. That's 13% of you roll on one game. And Hitting 58-61% is just crazy. Not even the best pros hit that. Just bet $20 a game and see how hard that is with a $700 bankroll. You bet size should be about 2% of your roll. Not 13%. Over 90% of the guys on this board have no clue about bankroll management. So asking the board for advice on this subject is not a good idea. I would buy a couple sportsbetting books and read about management that way. Instead of asking a whole bunch of degens on the internet.

Find a good free play bonus and If the 750 is money you can lose go aggressive $50 a game. Thats 6.7% of bank roll which is not terribly aggresive. If you want to be more conservative bet 10-20 a game. Not that exciting. At 50 bucks if you win 20 units that's a grand. Will give you a chance to bet more next year. if you loss 15 units reload or call it quits. If you relay need the money don't bet it.

Just bet has a 100% free play 500 max, Rebate wager has a 150% free play 1000 max, 20X rollover. If you want to withdraw anytime soon don't take the free play. If you plan on keeping money in and building bankroll I would take the free play at rebate wager.

Just take it easy and build it up, bet smart, don't chase. I started in 06 with a $40 deposit. Still playing with the initial deposit only making $10-$20 wagers. unless the bookies mess up as sometimes they do. For example last year or year before, can't remember, LSU Vandy game. Books had it at LSU -7.5 When you see that goof up then put the house on it. only time I ever put $500 down and immediately started to think about what I would buy with the winnings!

Last season I did $1,000 deposit with 100% bonus 10X rollover.
Bet in small increments and had money for bowl season, and had the rollover met

I then got smoked with a combination of Bowl losses and NFL playoff losses (Giants over packers...Broncos over Steelers)

But a grand for 6 months of action, 100's of bets, turned into a very enjoyable betting season for me for less ten $40 a week

If your betting small and want to go the whole season without re-loading then bonus's are the way to go

If your starting with $700 please dont bet a $100 a game lmao you will go bust so fast you will shit your pants. Betting $25 to $50 a game is more realistic. If you bet 6 games at $25 a pop thats $150 and you can still manage a $50 bet so $200 in bets for 1 week

2% of your bankroll? So you'd let yourself go down 50 units? i'd argue that you should quit before you get down 10-15 units.

just because you aren't doing it doesn't mean hitting 58-61% isn't doable. look at my blog for 2 years of proof.

you might want to look for a new hobby, clearly you're one of the C players handing out bad advice

Why arnt you trying to win thousands, why bet then, if you really know what youre doing, dont just bet the same every game, bet more on the games youre more confident on and less on the ones you arnt as confident, thats how you make money.

Here's the scoop. I have been using one method, w/ minor alterations since 2001. Every year, same results...I win....the only times I lose is when I break the rules...my rules....I am known throughout LV....My story is fascinating because it is still going on....I give you this prelude to give you a little info on me....If you have information that you may be contacted by outside of the forum would love to talk....I am looking for a runner in Vegas (you make money placing wagers for me)...Typically any wagers over the $10,000 threshold require a CTR to be filled out...so want a front man so to speak as well as someone that will place smaller wagers without me having to make an appearance in the book....all my (our) wagers are non-taxable....(b/c they do not reach the 300x threshold of winnings...so dont worry)...maybe I am going a lil bit too deep....anyways....college is important...in fact I have Masters Degrees (but who cares).... if money is what you want...and patience is something you can handle...then you can make it with me....I have had a few runners over the previous years and it boggles my mind why they dont stay on board....they would have made so much...but each of them had their vices, ie drugs, dancers/strippers, bad debts, etc. I am only looking for real folks and I will know everything about you before you jump on board with me...I dont care about criminal records, past, bad credit, blah, blah, blah.....just need a solid person I can trust. I emphasize I will know you (your family, extended family, friends, etc.) b/c I dont take chances.....forget all the rest....Im not a tout....I dont want you to visit a website...I just saw your post and was once in your shoes.....and believe me...with my style and $1000 of your own money...you could have $125k at the end of the FB/BB season (March 2013) without working for me by just copying my wagers!!! Understand....it is a business for me...and I remain focused for 7 months....then I enjoy life for 5 months and do it again.....so there you go......this post is open to anyone that can get to LV by August 29th..... start small and grow!!! Im not the biggest bettor by no means...but what I know and what I do has got me banned in several casinos across the city....so there must be something to it....since I never drink, smoke, or cause any types of malay/rucus. If your not interested....or anyone else for that matter....good luck on the season ahead!!
