    Not even close
It's moot because bama won't get blown out. They might lose, but not by a blowout.

Not sure why people argue the this and that's .
Nobody has a clue how it all pans out
Bama , Ohio State and Clemson could all lose next week . Granted it's not likely but no reason in the "what if's" and especially trying to say what someone else (committee members) are going to do .

will happen soon enough without the group of 5 team, however ucf would make it this year with a win saturday

would look something like bama vs pac12 winner
    oklahoma vs ohio st
    clemson vs georgia
    notre dame vs ucf

michigan would not be in most likely, notre dame ucf and georgia would be your wild cards

remember that oklahoma is playing texas and has a chance to avenge their only loss and ohio st is playing northwestern, will be a lot tougher to put in ohio st over them on style points

Is ND an absolute lock for a playoff spot? If Georgia beats Bama by a fg, Clemson wins the ACC and either Oh St or OU wins their conf by a blowout, does ND get booted?

Texas ranked 14. Nwestern ranked 19. Not a lot of difference so both okla and osu need to win and look good doing so

like Coach Said, ND is a 1000000000% lock to make the playoff. It is done. They are in. ZERO chance they get left out. SOS is strong and they went undefeated. Done deal.

Yes. Notre Dame and Alabama are already locks to be in, maybe even Clemson too! If Alabama loses, Georgia is fourth team. If Clemson loses, they probably still get in as a 4-seed. If Bama wins as expected, the Ohio State/Oklahoma debate begins.

I don’t think Clemson gets in if they lose - Bama is the only team that can lose and get in

It would presumably be Clemson, Ohio State and Oklahoma all with one loss and Clemson has been #2 all year, they would probably get in. But unlike Michigan yesterday, I feel safe in saying we will not have to worry about it.

Clemson isn’t losing but if they do I think it would be closer than you think between them and the other one loss teams.

i agree, very close. 2007 lsu lost two games late in season then still made the BCS title game. 2017 alabama lost to auburn last game of year then make the CFP.

it all depends on who we are comparing them to and if the comparison is to 1 loss OU and 1 loss tOSU then yes the comparisons are favorable to Clemson

now, if PITT blows them out by some fluke then all bets are off. Clemson would be in big trouble because the optics would be very bad as the committee is deliberating

Pitt is horrible, they aren't losing, the real debate will be if Bama loses, Georgia has a much better shot than Pitt.

The perception that Ohio State is a more complete team than Oklahoma is non-sense. Ohio State’s defense is just as bad they just play in an overrated league that’s full of teams that still play offense like it’s 1955.

OU is better than Ohio State in all of these categories.

    Wins over ranked teams.
    FPI
    Strength of Shedule
    Strength of Record

OU lost one game to a top 10 rival on a last second FG. Ohio State lost by 29 to unranked 6-6 Purdue.

    Maryland scores 51 on OSU
    Purdue scores 49 on OSU

TCU, a bad Big 12 offense, had over 500 yards against OSU. OU held TCU to 275 yards.

Everything favors OU plus they have the only QB in the country that can actually cause Bama problems.

I forgot to add that Ohio State also gave up 400 yards at home to a very bad Oregon State team. So they essentially get lit up when they play OOC even if it’s a bad team....the Big 10 is jut so overrated.

Anyway, the three best team’s in the country are as follows.

    1. Bama
    2. Clemson

    Then a gap
    3. Georgia

    Then another gap.

    4. Oklahoma
    5. Notre Dame
    6. Ohio State
    7. LSU
    8. Texas/Michigan

Just my opinion. OU will at least give everyone an entertaining game against Bama because they’ll score points. Kyler Murray will give Bama the toughest test it could possibly have.

Also, I realize LSU just lost but there is no way I would put money on Michigan if they played LSU. Penn State is also trash but Ohio State will thought their 1 point victory against them as something special.

Georgia's win on a neutral field over Florida by 20 was very impressive, this is a different team then the one that lost to LSU. That's the difference between Alabama and Georgia, Alabama already peaked, Georgia has been getting better the last month -very young defense.
