Virginia Tech sophomore quarterback Josh Jackson, who started all 13 games for the Hokies last season, is still on the team, but his father says his son’s future status is unknown.Fred Jackson, Josh Jackon’s father and a longtime college assistant coach, said he expects his son's status with the Hokies' program to be determined later this week.
"As of right now, Josh is still a member of the Virginia Tech football team," Fred Jackson said Thursday by phone. "We'll know more in two days. It's too early to talk about this."

It’s been a tumultuous offseason for third-year head coach Justin Fuente. Last month, his co-defensive coordinator and close friend Galen Scott resigned after it was revealed he was involved in an extra-marital affair.
Last week, Tech announced that senior cornerback Adonis Alexander, one of its top returning defensive players, was no longer on the team.
