Let's Talk About The Programs That Have Slipped Badly.....

Tennessee.....Butch Davis is packing his bags as we speak
BYU.....This was a once-proud program, now they can't beat anyone
North Carolina.....There's no reason they're this bad, injuries or not
Florida State.....That goofball QB should be throwing the javelin, not a football
Oregon.....These kids get new uniforms and shoes every game but they can no longer recruit

There are more. What do you got....?

Florida State won a title not even 4 years ago. They haven’t slipped near the level those have.

    How about

    Baylor, Texas, maybe Cincinnati.

King of the Mountain is Tennessee

It's not slipping of those programs as much as the rise of others. Tennessee slippage coincides with Vandy, Memphis, and Georgia getting better. BYU slippage coincides with Boise St, Notre Dame, Navy, and Washington getting(back) on the national stage. North Carolina's coincides with Clemson, Wake Forest, NC State, and Duke upswings. Florida State is not down, just having to share the spotlight with Clemson in the ACC. Oregon's slippage coincides with the upswings of Washington, Washington State, Stanford, and USC. So it's not slippage its sharing the pot with more good teams which means falling down the food chain.

Florida State’s program isn’t slipping lol. They are having a down year mostly due to injuries. Won the title 4 seasons ago. Made the playoffs the next season. Played in New Years 6 bowls the following 2 seasons. They’ll continue to have too 5-10 recruiting classes. If that’s slipping, sign me up.

agree for the most part. Tennessee has more to do with Georgia, Auburn, and Alabama getting most of the Georgia talent, Spurriers run at South Carolina, and not being able to beat the Gators. They got impatient with Phil and Kiffin set them back a decade. Tennessee is a good job, but probably one of the more difficult

It's all a cycle. Programs fall and then they rise again. Been like that since the beginning of time.

James Franklin made Vandy a back to back 9 win bowl team and Vandy has sort of kept being relevant since then and Memphis under Justin Fuentez made Memphis a nice little place to stay at home also. Ole Miss was good until 15 games ago which also kept the Memphis kids away from Knoxville, but Georgia putting a fence around its state and Clemson getting the players that Tennessee used to come in and get doomed Tennessee mightily. I watched some the game yesterday and Bama has 10 lineman better than the best lineman Tennessee had, and that guy got hurt. Tennessee must have a decent coach because their talent level is down there under at least 8 SEC teams yet they manage to have a 7-5 record every year. Tennessee's talent is not much better that Vandy's now

Vandy & Memphis aren’t taking recruits away from Tennessee. From the recruiting rankings, Tennessee is still high and sports two top 5 classes the last 5 years. So they are either wrong about the guys they recruited or underperforming with the talent they have. I think Tennessee wins the East last year if they weren’t ravaged with injuries. Probably buys Botch another yesr

Texas is going to be very good again very soon. You can clearly see it coming if you have a fukkin clue at all.

Michigan has not slipped. They're simply too young this year.

Texas is already very good...Just bonehead plays cost them in close games...once that is eliminated we will see Texas being a powerhouse again in the very near future

I didn't say they were taking any recruits from Tennessee, but if a kid wants to stay at home and play Memphis and Vandy are now options of going to a bowl just like Tennessee. I hope Tennessee is NOT selling kids on playing in the SEC Championship game or New Year's Day bowls or the fact that Butch has been on the hot seat every year he has been there. His job security has come up every year that he has been there. So a kid who wants to play in the SEC and play in Knoxville can go to Vandy and still get to a bowl game. Same with Memphis, Memphis usually plays Ole Miss every year and they have been going to bowl games too. So that is local talent that can stay at home and get the same thing that they can get in Knoxville. What does Butch have to offer other than losing games that he should win and getting blown out in games they are expected to lose. The Ole Miss thing hurt a lot too when they were good a few years ago. Ole Miss had the number 1 recruit and a few others to turn the program around plus they are a stones throw from Memphis.

Nebraska had a major fall off. Back in the 90s they were like what Alabama is today, a dynasty. Huskers won big and under coach Osborne got any recruit they wanted. Now they're a silly step child of the Big 10.

Tennessee is murdering it in recruiting, believe it or not.

We're just seeing anomaly years with some programs, like we did with Notre Dame, Michigan State, and Marshall last year just to name a few. Sometimes you just have a bad QB year (NC, FSU).

Teams definitely on the decline are Nebraska and BYU, no fluke there IMO.

    Texas just needs time

McElwain is somehow winning games in spite of all the nonsense at Florida. Mistake if they let him go.

    Michigan - LOL. They're fine.

UCLA - Probably effed. Once Rosen goes...

Baylor - C'mon now, gotta give them a break here.

Kansas doesn't put a lot of effort in to their football program, it's very lopsided into basketball, to where programs like MSU and Kentucky have done a much better job balancing it out.

    Pittsburgh is falling.
