So muschamp is going to take the South Carolina job ...good for the gamecocks!

They'll have a good defense every year and champ can recruit nice pick up. If only they can get him an OC that can score so this doesn't turn out like Florida where that defense is gassed from being on the field too long because he crappy offense keeps going 3 and out.

His defense can be Top 15 level easy ....it's the offense they need to make sure champ has an offense or he'll struggle again like Florida.

Already proved he can't be a great head coach.

But maybe at SC they'll be content with 6-6 7-5 seasons.

it's discrimination against fat people I tell ya!..why in the hell hasn't Ralph Friedgen and Mark Mangino been giving second chances at coaching?!...they were very successful in turning around two doormat programs in Maryland and Kansas...it's because they are morbidly obese and fat!......they forgot more about football than most of these so-called coaches getting hired will ever know...amirite?!..

He's had 1 HC job at Florida jeez ...he needs a offense think you'll see a different result auburn would be complete dogshit without his defense keeping them in games often without its best player Carl Lawson.

MD thought their HC job was bigger than it was. Friedgen was the only reason they were football relevant.

Amen Kevin!......Class of '94......I was a member of the alumni association but I quit giving money after how they treated Ralph...very disrespectful and unwarranted...turned our football program around from laughingstock to perennial ACC contender...and then they fukked over James franklin who was supposed to be the coach in waiting and instead hired that bum Randy Edsall!......I told anyone who would listen that Maryland would rue the day they got rid of big Ralph!

but on the topic, i think this is not a good hire. muschamp does not have the temperament to be a head coach. if things go south players just stop responding to his pure meatheadedness as any grown adult would.

It's not so much the punches you land as it is not getting hit see

+1. Muschamp is too much of a prima-donna to be a head coach. He cannot control his own temper. How is he suppose to control his players.

Muschamp is not a #1, but a great #2. Unfortunately he is something a lot more dangerous. A #2 who thinks he is a #1.

He's the best they can do. Nobody wants that job or has won there other than Holtz and Spurrier, both guys that like a challenge and to show how smart they are. He's going to hire a passing guy for his OC. It will be back to the old days for another few decades. Whenever they do hire a decent coach, he'll be gone.

    He can at least recruit.

Bringing a great staff (recruiting wise) along with him

Gamecocks biggest weaknesses past few years were defense and recruiting and Muschamp is great in these areas bottom line

He did OK at Florida and I thought they let him go too early (Something crazy like 17 injuries his last season there)

Not going to say he's going to be a great coach but he should be solid....if not atleast he will leave some talent there

    Spurrier got lazy with recruiting

MUSCHUMP was an absolute disaster with way better talent at Florida!

Tanner definitely should be fired as SC athletic director after this moronic move!He just set the football program back an entire decade
