    Stanford Lands Top Quarterback

Keller Chryst (6-4, 228) verbally committed to Stanford yesterday. Chryst is considered one of the top-3 pro-style quarterbacks in this year's recruiting class and is rated the No. 3 football prospect in the state of California. He joins Kyle Allen (Texas AM) and David Cornwell (Alabama) as the top three rated pocket passers to commit. Chryst had offers from a number of the top schools, including Pittsburgh where his uncle Paul is the head coach.

Kudos to Stanford for keeping the kid at home...his father is the quarterbacks coach for the San Francisco 49ers. Good pickup for the Cards!

Nice. I love what Stanford became under Harbaugh, and it's nice to see their commitment to fielding a winning team survive his departure. Chryst is a perfect fit for Stanford. A pro-style QB with a big frame and a strong, accurate arm that makes smart choices. The thing about him that really stands out for me is his movement in the pocket. He keeps his eyes downfield, and has the awareness and footwork to keep plays alive under pressure.

Put him behind Stanford's tough offensive line and he'll be able to do serious damage.

David Shaw (23-4) has done a great job following Harbaugh the past two years and has what looks like a really good team this season. What makes Stanford's turnaround so impressive is that the school doesn't allow in kids not ready for college work. No dummies need to apply.

Difficult schedule for the Cards but they should challenge for the Pac-12 title again.

    Good video post on Chryst.
