Notre Dame drops Michigan from football schedule

    http://www.suntimes.com/sports/15375...-schedule.html

Michigan became the first casualty of Notre Dame’s new scheduling agreement with the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon said on Tuesday that the Irish have cancelled the scheduled football games between the two traditional powerhouses from 2015-17, effectively ending the series after the 2014 edition. The schools already had planned to take a break in the series for 2018 and 2019, so the earliest the teams could play again is 2020.

I think this is good for both teams.

Reading the ND and Michigan boards, they both wanted a break.

ND's 2015 schedule was insane anyway.

They are scheduled to open with Texas and then had Michigan the following week. Who in their right minds would open up Texas/Michigan? then have USC 3 weeks later?

Michigan did this to the Domers back in the late 90's, and it all worked out good.

    Actually, only since 1978.

Michigan taught ND the game of football back in the 1890's---then blackballed the Irish when ND beat them. The rivalry started up again in 1978. They have given us some incredible games.
