Cotton Bowl: K-State vs. Arkansas... What is the play?

Wildcats have been proving people wrong all year but this will be a really tough matchup. I still like them +9.5 though because they are used to facing pass-happy teams in the Big 12.

Remember WVU / Clemson the other night?

Same thing, just substitute Arky for WVU and K-State for Clemson.

    It's just that easy.

I bet you said the same thing when OK St(lost but definitely covered), Baylor, Texas, A&M and Mizzou played them. K State has been one of the most underrated teams all year and obviously still people dont believe in them. Now I dont think they will beat Arkansas but there is still a good chance they will cover. If you watched them you would know they slow the game down and dont turn the ball over. Thats why they are successful. But good luck with whatever you choose.

except that Clemson was favored in that game, and K-State is not in this one...

Take K-State plus the points. Anything over 7 is a bargain here. This is going to be another wild game.

Hard to say. K-State has hung in there with basically everyone, but Arkansas is athletically superior in every way.

Total's also weird -- did you know it briefly opened at 67? A 3-4 point drop in a game like this is a head-scratcher.

I think this one finds a way to sneak under.

My first guess is Arkansas wins 38-24 or something like that. I don't see both the Hogs and the over hitting -- I know that much.

Arky is the superior team in most every aspect.

Tyler Wilson is a top ranked passing QB.
Check out Wilson's passing numbers, they are pretty much across the board RGIII numbers.

K-State does not have the pass defense to slow Wilson down.
At best, and this is still a stretch, K-State's pass defense is mediocre.
They allow 2 passing TD's per game, they've given up 3200 passing yards, they don't force the pick either.
K-State's pass defense gives up 267 yards per game, that's on the average, Wilson is a lot better than an average passing QB.
Don't kid yourself, Arky will pass on K-State if their d-front can't get to Wilson.
K-State isn't a good sacking team on defense either.

What they do well is stop the run, they have a good run defense.

But overall, Kansas State has a mediocre defensive unit, that has to step up if it's going to stay within 10 points of the Hogs.

Hogs have a better defensive unit.

The only edge K-State has in this game is K-State's run offense versus Hog run defense, and the Arkansas run defense is not that bad, hardly swiss cheese.

In order for K-State to win, they have to take the pass away from Arkansas, and I don't see that happening.
I can see Wright scoring on two TD passes alone.
K-State can stop the run, but let's not forget Johnson does average over six yards per carry running the ball, and that's against run defenses like So. Carolina, LSU, Alabama, and the others.

K-State had a very nice year, nobody is calling them garbage, but they don't match up well against this SEC team.

Not that big of a deal, Petrino calls the shots.
Speaking of Petrino, is Paully going to be working the game tonight?

I'm an A&M fan and I watched them both play my team.

I was more impressed by K-State.

Brandon Weeden is a very good qb as well. And him and oklahoma st. only beat K state by 7. He had a qb rating of 123 and passed for 502 yards for 4 TD's. K state also got 2 picks as well.

I just find it hard to pass up +9.5 yards on this team.

If Mr. Brown could get to Mr. Wilson, you do realize the Hog o-line goes 338 lbs, 334 lbs, 319 lbs, 318 lbs, and 307.

Oh, and that line is good too.

I'm on the TT OVER for the Razorbacks @ 36 pts.

I think this game may well play out like Auburn/Virginia where the better players all over the field take charge and win going away in the 2nd half. KState will most likely employ a ball control approach to have any hope here but they've been able to hang in games all year long. I hate that the line has now been pushed up to 10 pts because it had value early on at -7. Should be another fun one to watch.

How can you guys take K-State here? Lang picked K State +9, and I've turned my $25 buy in to $1505 and my only rule is to fade him. This tiny bankroll started on the 15th and he's been a goldmine to fade!
