    generally polls are based on people perceptions as opposed to reality on how good a team is. this is a strength for bookmakers to rely on the public overvaluing teams based on these ranking. most people don't use statistical information to make their own power ranking which often differ from these polls.

    the rankings i look at have GT at 26 but have ND at 12 and Georgia at 10.

    Look at their schedule, they really havent played anyone yet and barely got by Maryland last week at home. They are about to play Miami, Clemson, and Virginia tech and end up the season against Georgia, they wont be in the top 20 after that. I hate Paul johnsons style of play , you just cant be a great team without the pass in the modern game.

    My guess is that the poll that this guy looks at ranks SEC teams way higher than they should be.

    antifoil, where is Miss State, South Carolina, Florida, and Auburn ranked?

    the top 4 or 5 teams are so much better than everyone else that a lost to boise isn't that big a deal.

    the difference between 1 and 10 is larger than the difference between 10 and 50.
