    LSU/Florida Saturday Showdown

    Guys,

What do you think? Brantley is out against the Tigers and I don't see the Florida Gators having a chance to beat the LSU Tigers without him.

The line opened at -12 and I've seen it at -13 since and even as high as -14.5. What do you think. Where does the line top out or end up. What about the total of 41?

Florida is still Florida, and with LSU and Bama, a top 3 SEC program.

They were embarrassed in The Swamp. In 02, people were worried about Florida and their new staff after they had just gotten trounced by Miami at home, 41-16. They bounced back on the road in a game where no one gave them a shot, at Tennessee. LSU is much better than UT was, but at the time UT was a perennial top 5 team, and hadn't yet started their downward spiral. Funny that game may have been what started it. They were ranked 4th I think.

I'm just saying beware of betting against Florida after getting embarrassed and that LSU is due for a real nail biter, and I think they will get it against a rival like UF.

    I like LSU 20-13.

Alabama clobbered UF in Gainesville, no way they don't get beat pretty badly at LSU

florida might get beat by 40 here. That freshmen QB is nowhere near ready, and thats there only option. I dont think they get over 150 yards in this one

Muschamp screaming on the sideline is my only worry. LSU - 17...And I like LSU, especially if they kick Jefferson off the team. They don't need that.

Coaches like Holgersen, Muschamp and Brian Kelly if he wasn't with the Irish worry me...They simply won't allow their teams to play two bad games in a row.

First off, expect 2+ Florida turnovers in this game. Driskel played the entire 2nd half last week, completing 2 of 6 passes for 14 yards. Florida is going to have to rely on the run game and LSU has been a brick wall this year. They're allowing 60 yards rushing per game. I would be shocked if Florida goes over 200 total yards this game. If Brantley somehow plays, I wouldn't touch this game. LSU will cover easily if Driskel plays, no doubt in my mind.

    P.S. I'm 4-0 on LSU this year

Like LSU but at -14 I think the books did more than enough adjusting for Brantley being out. Beware of the trap.

Florida's QB looked like he never played the game before, his chances are less than good on the road.

Maybe some of the FLA fans can shed more light on this but the local sports radio here are of course saying Brantley is out for this game and indefinitely for the season but what's a "non-surgical, lower leg injury"? I'm no doctor either but his foot looked to be turned completely the other direction of his knee when he went down on the field in Saturday nights game. I don't know how that's not season ending or at least making him a non issue for the remainder of the season.

As for this game why would they no start Burton? Is he not further along than Driskal?

I'm an Alabama fan but I'm an SEC football fan and just can't get a feel for this game depending on the QB's. I think there's a new pressure on Lee now that Jefferson is back on the team and he's now having to look over his shoulder when he becomes inconsistent. Depending on what Florida puts on the field Saturday night this could make for interesting football. I do see LSU winning I believe it's more of a factor of where they cover or not at this point. This could likely go to -17 and that's alot of points for these two ranked SEC teams.

I think the injury is much worse than they are letting off. If this is last year I'm sure Burton is the starter but in Weis system I don't think he is any better than Driskal. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the wildcat some though.

Florida's been pretty quiet about the injury to Brantley. I heard it was a high ankle sprain but I don't have any confirmation.

Going to play at LSU isn't fun, especially when they have a guy named Tyrann Mathieu on their team. LSU shows Bama their D can roll over UF as well.
