    Another Yahoo Sports Bombshell?

As I was driving home today, a local radio host was discussing the fact that Chuck Oliver made reference to a major story coming from Yahoo Sports in the next 30 days about a SEC West school that isn't Ole Miss or Arkansas. The story is heating up on several message boards, like this one:

    http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=159&f...o=MS_101962293

Don't know how much there is to it, but the story is floating out there.

Yeah, it's gonna be great when Vandy and Duke are the only two teams left that are not on probation.

There wouldn't be any "Buckeye Hate" if Tressel wasn't a lying piece of shit. I can't wait to see the hammer that is going to be dropped on Ohio State-----that is going to be fun to watch.

This involves Auburn. I have been told that the FBI was doing a bit time investigation in the State of Alabama regarding political favors, money laundering, and more, and that wire taps were used. One of those taps recorded a conversation between Auburn people regarding how much to pay to get the services of Cam Newton. Only rumor at this time.

My only question is that this is a Yahoo! report. Why would the FBI tell Yahoo! before anyone else?

Auburn could care less! They were more than willing to sacrifice sanctions in order to compete for the ultimate prize, something that is not easy to attain in a state where Alabama is their neighbor. So what if years later they have to give back a title or a Heisman. Vacating wins is overrated, as no one can take back the joy these sanctioned teams had when winning the title, the bowl game, etc. USC and Ohio St may suffer for a few years or so, but they'll someday be back. Auburn may do the same, or maybe even suffer longer considering the program may not quite have the long history of the other two, but again, they got the big prize.

I like college football for the game on the field and hate the side stuff. Perhaps the only way to end this stuff is to penalize Ohio St and Auburn immediately, no bowl, etc., etc. Is that guilty before innocent? Maybe, so put some of that enormous TV money into NCAA enforcement and conduct an immediate investigation instead of letting this all drag on. And get agents off college campuses. And get compliance officers on campus!

Okay, I'm done now. I'll stop before I ask the powers that be to reduce gas prices, stop pollution, and produce honest political candidates.

Care to place a points wager on that one?

Only an Ohio State fan would think they would escape punishment when they used players throughout an entire season when their head coach intentionally hid their ineligibility, and then LIED about it repeatedly to the NCAA.

Oh yeah.....Ohio State is going to be just fine....

Keep buying the ESPN BS. Not even close to what USC did. No more than a one year post season ban if that.

The hammer could drop on auburn soon. From what I hear , the feds listened to wire taps that would suggest that 10 people were sent to the Victoryland casino, they were told to ask for a specific person, and were escorted to a VIP gambling area where they had machines ready and assigned to each person they invited. The 10 people all wound up leaving with approximately 20k each, and brought the funds back to auburn to dispense.

You are delusional. Your source or comparison that you linked is FROM AN OHIO STATE WEBSITE---and let's be honest----not exactly an objective source when it comes to evaluating all things Ohio State.

For cripes sake---there are still Ohio State fans who think Tressel lying to the NCAA isn't that big of a deal.

Ohio State is going to get crushed.

Simple question. Do you want to make a wager that they get more than a one-year ban?

They will get hit with recruiting cuts, a mult-year probationary period, and they will be lucky if it is just a one-year post-season ban.

As I typed this response, ESPN just reported that The Columbus Dispatch just had this piece-----which goes to what I was saying---Ohio State had a history of non-compliance with Tressel---and they are going to get crushed for it.

They aren't going to get crushed. People (ESPN) are comparing it to USC, where infact the issues aren't even near what USC did. USC got 2 years for all sorts of stuff, and for lack of institutional control which Ohio State wasn't charged with. I can't blame you for thinking that Ohio State is going to get slammed because your probably listening to ESPN reporters making it seem real bad because they are still bitter over the BIG 10 Network, and the fact that they sold the title game to Fox. You just need to read what Ohio State is being accused of by the NCAA and look how others in the same situation were given penalties. Not to mention these issues were self reported and Ohio State has been completely cooperative with the NCAA in the investigation. Here is another article that isn't from an Ohio State website that is talking about the ESPN BS and how other similar cases were handled by the NCAA http://www.lmfaosports.com/forums/content.php?121.

    They were not self reported.

The infractions were brought to light when the FBI investigated the tat parlor. Only then did Ohio State come clean.

Tressel knew last year that Pryor and his band of idiots were ineligible----and never told his bosses, and now the Dispatch is reporting that Tressel had a history of non-compliance---and Gene Smith decided to stop giving Tressel written evaluations, and you think this is going to be okay with the NCAA?

A coach who lied to the NCAA------not once---but three times, and his AD stood by and gave what was a bullshit response to the NCAA in December----

You keep wearing those Woody Hayes glasses, and reading Buckeye websites for "objective" evaluations of the situation.

Anytime you want to bet on what the infractions are going to be, you just let me know.

Thank You. The FBI came to Ohio State and told them they found the gear, in which Tressell told Ohio State he didn't know of it. Ohio State then told the NCAA. It was the Universitys first knowledge of it. So yeah, it was still self reported. Thanks for getting me that info.

    AGAIN.

    Not SELF REPORTED.

As Tressel KNEW---KNEW LAST F'IN SPRING----that Pryor and his clan were selling gear.

    That is not exactly "Self-Reporting".

In fact---Not only did Sweater Vest NOT Self Report----he emailed Pryor's shady circle of friends.

That isn't exactly SELF REPORTING now is it?

It was self reported by Ohio State to the NCAA. Would it of come out yet if they didn't? probably but it could of been 5 years down the road. Take Tressell out of the picture I'm talking about when the University found out they immediately told the NCAA and they will take that into consideration. And guess what Ohio State did when they found out Tressell knew? They self reported it, unfortunately Yahoo! made an article before the news broke to the public. If you really don't believe me in that they self reported these here is the actual report that has both of them on there http://www2.nbc4i.com/mgmedia/file/1...ressel-emails/
