do sportsbooks make this type of mistake?

I saw on Bet Phoenix that William Joppy is the underdog vs Gayrat Ahmedov. I looked at the boxing scheduled fights for today at boxrec.com, William Joppy is fighting a different guy named Beibut Shumenov. Gayrat is fighting a different guy, not William Joppy. The fights are all in the same location, must have been the cause of mix up.

Sportsbooks make mistakes all the time. If you call them and let them know about errant lines, for example lines where they reverse the favorite and underdog, they often will give you a bonus or freeplay.

Shumenov was supposed to fight Juergen Braehmer in a title unification bout, but Braehmer pulled out due to injury at the last moment, and journeyman Joppy took the fight on 2 days notice. BetPhoenix probably didn't change their lines to account for this. Certain books are more prone to these types of errors than others, fwiw Bodog makes boxing mistakes all the time, and the best course of action is to let the book know they put up a bad line. You probably won't get anything in return, but there's a chance they toss a freeplay or free withdrawal or something like that your way.
