Floyd Mayweather given absolutely no chance of beating Conor McGregor inside the MMA

Floyd Mayweather given absolutely no chance of beating Conor McGregor inside the octagon

Oddsmakers have revealed their hand as rumors continue to grow of a crossover by former pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather into MMA.
Mayweather, who is fast approaching his 41st birthday, has posted several hints at the possibility of fighting in the octagon and old foe Conor McGregor is the frontrunner to be in the opposite corner.
'Money' defeated 'The Notorious' one back in August but was immediately dared to rematch the UFC champion in his own code.
Should that happen this year, bookies at BetStars have McGregor as a virtually unbackable favorite to inflict a first fighting loss on Mayweather in over 20 years.
BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion said: “Since taking each other on in the ring, Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have both hinted at a rematch in an octagon.
"Mayweather, whose professional boxing record stands at 50-0, defeated McGregor by TKO in the tenth round when they faced each other last August, but he will face a tougher test if they fight under MMA rules.
“’The Notorious’ is the 1/20 favourite at to win the bout, should the fight take place."
He continued: "McGregor will have a far superior skill level to that of Mayweather’s and his kicking ability should be enough to see him comfortably through the fight.
“‘Money’ Mayweather will no doubt fancy his chances and his lightning speed may well be enough to see him past the Irishman. The punters, however, don’t agree and Mayweather has emerged as the 15/2 underdog, should the fight go ahead.”
Having already defeated McGregor once, Mayweather will certainly have no fear, but whether he can avoid the kicks, elbow and more worryingly - the submissions, is another story entirely.

Mayweather has obviously taken too many shots to the head if he even contemplates doing this.

hope it happens just for the easy money

mayweather r1 (anyone that can throw a punch can ko anyone else with 4oz gloves)

mcG ko or sub (could get a little tricky cause one would be as easy as the other, i'd roll with whatever had better odds between ko, sub, or r1)

I doubt Vegas will actually release odds on mcgregor if this fight really happens. He has 0 chance. 0. Outside of a staged event, unless Connor wants to hurt him so he lets him hang around longer than expected, he could finish him inside of one minute if he tried.

The worst fighter in UFC in that weight division would destroy mayweather inside of round 1.

any girl in the UFC in that weight division would beat mayweather. Anyone that thinks differently does not understand mma/boxing.

They sure are flirting with the idea but without specific rule changes I don't see mayweather doing it

I could see Floyd doing the hype for it.... and then a week before fake an injury and back out.

When Vegas doesn't give odds for this fight, if it happens, I'll lay anyone 15/1 odds cash, meet in Vegas. Lol. This is a joke. The women's champion in that division would be a 10/1 favorite over mayweather in an mma fight

Better shot than Conor winning a boxing match IMO. You know Floyd would have to have some special rules though. Maybe no leg kicks?

If there are special rules, then there is no need for the fight to even take place.

I hear the special rules will consist on Conor not being able to pound/grapple Floyd in the ground for more than 15 seconds... meaning if Floyd gets dropped Conor has 15secs to finish him any sec after that the ref will break it off and get each fighter on their corners before resuming.

Leg kicks are necessary. Otherwise no MMA. That wont be over ruled.

One kick would shatter Floyd's tibia. Not being hyperbolic either.
