Blockchain Banning Accounts for Transferring to Books

I saw this coming since they made the move to be an exchange.

I used to keep some coins there, but moved them all out 6 months ago after reports of compromised accounts with 2fa and people would not even hear back from Blockchain.

I would transfer funds to a better wallet and find a better exchange to deal with.

Vya. Just use one of the top exchanges and use one of the wallet apps on your phone for intermediary. I have tried a few and I like Mycelium.

I think Blockchain used to be the most talked about intermediary at SBR. I don't think posters realize that you should have stopped using it for that purpose when they went the exchange route.

Now an Exchange as well. Surprised it took this long for them to start doing what other exchanges have been doing.

Ah, my bad did not know it used to be an intermediary. I have used Edge wallet on my phone for around 5 years as my intermediary wallet.

My last several deposits to books have come directly from coinbase.

Seems as other exchanges are getting more lenient blockchain is well behind the pack & showing their ass as newcomers

    Experts chime in....

Heritage for example, gives you/generates an address that can only be used once when transferring Bitcoin to deposit.

So how can the exchange determine its a sports book it's going to???

I have some money in BlockChain that I haven't touched for a while now..

I'll transfer my blockchain balance to my Coinbase account now. I just don't know how they can track a bitcoin address that you are sending to a sportsbook?

NOTE - If I send a bitcoin re-up to a sportsbook I just use Coinbase direct. Never had a problem and been doing that for years now. Wallets are overrated, just wasting your money on more transfer fees.

I do 50 transactions a week with blockchain never had any issues. Been with them for many many years.

Never had to do KYC with them either. Just send and receive as I please. I've always used them as my middle-man

    Brock has it correct.

    Blockcahin.com is not an exchange.

They offer a third party exchange service via their wallet.

If you do not verify your ID and agree to that exchange services terms, then Blockchain.com do not care what you do with your COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS wallet there.

On top of that, you own the private keys for your wallet there. If they try to muck you around, use your seed phrase to create a new version of the same wallet in other software.

Do you really care about the technicalities of how?

We know for sure that they can.

Google search blockchain analysis companies to get an idea of how easy it is becoming to profile wallets by usage. Targets like bookmakers are very simple to identify that way due to the "unique" ways their payment flows go.

Seems like they have been able to do this from day one.

I think it was coinbase that started shutting down accounts early on, but some bettors continued to get away with transfers, while others were blocked.

I've never been shutdown on Coinbase going direct bitcoin transfers to books. Then again I don't bitcoin deposit into sportsbooks very often.

I guess if you are transfer depositing to sportbooks regularly with set amounts they can eventually catch on. I still don't know how they can figure that out from a bitcoin address though? Pretty stealthy.

The coin usually ends up somewhere like an exchange or a cold storage wallet. They trace backward from that end to link your coinbase wallet ID.

As one way to do it anyway.

I think that books have been more diligent in using fresh wallets to send/receive funds.
