Croatia was in the final last time.

Always have a chance when you have a top 5-10 player in the world. Plus they had a couple other very good players, actually good players not like these guys on teams that no one has ever heard of. I think Croatia can be good again but they're probably too old now.

You look down the list though, all the teams who make it far in the world cup.

France who won last time, loaded, every position world class.
Germany -- absolutely loaded. Argentina who made the finals.
Spain -- hall of famers everywhere, even on the bench. Crazy. Netherlands who will in the finals. One of the sickest trios ever on a national stage, one of whom was a top 3 player in the world, the other 2 easily top 40.

Go back to the stacked Brazil teams, absolutely stacked like nothing we've ever seen. And then France when they had Zidane Henry Vierra Evra Molouda. Just loaded. Italy when they won I think it was 06? Crazy good roster.

There aren't many times where these random teams win, it's usually the best rosters who compete and end up winning the World Cup. Euro, you get a few underdogs here and there. As of now, the best roster to me is looking like Belgium. France lost Kante and Pogba, and they controlled the whole midfield in the last world cup, and were the best players on France. Brazil has a better roster this year than 4 years ago, but it doesn't look good enough to compete with Belgium. Argentina is always a threat. They lost Dyabala though, which is major in my book. Germany and Spain look like pretty solid rosters, but nothing even close to what they were when they won it all, and they struggled to win it all with those rosters even. Even David Silva or Fabregas are better than any player currently on Spain, and those two guys were coming off the bench in the 60th minute of the 2010 cup run.

The major players usually win it your right but if you look at the top 4 since 1982 there is usually a surprise team. Certainly there are surprise teams that make it to the last 8 for sure and it's getting more and more competitive.

    Turkey
    Sweden
    Poland
    South Korea
    Uruguay
    Croatia 2 times
    Bulgaria
    Belgium(1986)

All those nations were in the semifinals since 1982 and none of them were picked to be in that position

Ronaldo is on his last legs and infact this is probably going to be his swan song I wouldn't doubt. I always bet on South Korea in the World Cup, there always a fun team to watch. You could even sprinkle a little on them getting to the quarter finals.

Remember when I called Spain-netherlands both making the finals in 2010 and spain winning it all when no one had them? And when I had Germany Argentina both making finals in 2014 with argentina winning? Dont' see anyone else on this site that had those calls.

Could be one surpise to make semis yeah, just don't see any team like that winning or even making finals is all I'm saying. Like we aren't going to see an Iran. urugay i think that was 2010 right? They still had star power on that team including a top 5 player in that tourney. Diego Forlan, bending that ball on free kicks like no one else. We'll see what happens though, sometimes the WC makes stars.

Forlan, Suarez, Cavani, Uruguay had a good team that year. I don't think it's too much of a surprise they made the semifinals. Took out a good young South Korea team in the knockout stage

Speaking of South Korea, they had absolutely no business being in the semis in 2002

Blatant home favouritism from the refs during that run. They took away at least 2 goals from Spain in the quarterfinals match that Korea ended up winning in penalties

I did have Holland and Spain in 2010 actually as outright bets. Mind you that was through Bet365 lol! so I profited either way.

not that i care but i can easily see sbr doing away with the sbr sportsbook after football season ends, whoever the line source is they are very slow to update odds leaving very soft lines that can be taken advantage of

buffalo akron total is listed contest and sbr sportsbook at 55.5 but the line is currently 49.5

don't be shocked after the contest ends sbr sportsbook gets 86'd

USA will beat Iran, lose to England, birth into the knockout round will depend on how they do against Wales. If they draw then the goal difference from the other games comes into play.
