    in 2009, 48 picks were required.

    In 2012, 60 picks were required.

    Either way, it has never been the case that if you miss a week, you're disqualified. Not making the 5 required picks just means you won't be eligible to win weekly prizes for that week. You still can easily make the minimum by picking the other weeks.
