    SBR Trivia incorrect answer

    For 175 points today...

Who was the first female tennis player to break the $2 million mark in earnings for one year?

I selected Martina Navratilova and the 'correct answer' was Seles.

Wrong. Navratilova did it in 1984.

Martina would have been the first if you counted her $1 million tour ending bonus, but that doesnt count in the regular standings.

Seles was indeed the first FEMALE player to break the $2 million in earnings in one year, not counting bonuses

Did the trivia question not count bonuses? I am pretty sure in any occupations bonuses are considered yearly earnings....

Alright, it could be considered either way. I was just trying to explain their answer.

As an independent observer, I think that the fair thing to do is to give him a 60 point freeplay and be done with it.

Imagine how many people just guess the last answer correctly and never even check to see if their question had the wrong answer on it

    From the WTA website (http://www.wtatennis.com/page/AboutTheTour)

1984 - Navratilova received a $1-million bonus from the ITF for winning Roland Garros and thus holding all four Grand Slam singles crowns at the same time, having won Wimbledon and the US and Australian Opens in 1983 (Steffi Graf would later do so in 1988 and 1993-94); Navratilova crossed the $2-million mark in season earnings, more than men's No.1 John McEnroe; the Australian Open joined the US Open in offering the women's event equal prize money (temporarily did not between 1996-2000).

Give me my 175-point freeplay please.

    Crickets? Really?

Which mod deals with these screw-ups? Hopefully not the same one that botched my SBR Pro application and cost me 3961 points because they checked my username instead of the requested account ID at the sportsbook I signed up at.

They arent going to do anything about it, and if they do, dont expect a notification or fp.

Lou, give the guy a 60 point freeplay.

As unbiased as I can be I can see where there could be 2 answers to this question. The main question is did you really put Martina?

There is a way that you can check over trivia, but I cant remember the link

No you effin moron, I picked Carling Bassett. There's no ambiguity here. The question was "Who was the first female tennis player to break the $2 million mark in earnings for one year?"

The answer is clearly listed in several places on the WTA website as Martina.

Lou, deduct 60 points from PO69. As unbiased as I can be, he's an ahole.
