Best pitching staff but they need one more power hitter. Mathews is having a bad year.

They are overrated ,and in a division with three bad teams..I don't think tha Angels win the div NEXT season but we'll see..World series ! I'll say Red Sox or White Sox from the AL ; Cubs or Zona from the NL...Sorry if I'm cheating by picking 2 teams from each league but I think those teams are solid contenders...

This is what the playoffs will look like:
    AL East: Yankees/Red Sox
    AL Central: White Sox
    AL West: Angels
AL Wild Card: Either Yankees or Red Sox, whichever has the worse record

    NL East: Mets
    NL Central: Cubs
    NL West: Dodgers
    NL Wild Card: Brewers

Steve Phillips, the biased former Met GM said the following:
    AL East: Red Sox
    AL Central: White Sox
    AL West: Angels
    AL Wild Card: Rays

    NL East: Mets
    NL Central: Cubs
    NL West: Dodgers
    NL Wild Card: Brewers

He is so anti-Yankees it's ridiculous.

    Seriously, question mark

Questionable pitching, low ERA's because they play the Mariners and A's who are lucky to score 3 runs in a game.

Can't come up with hits in clutch situations.

Baseball is all about consistency. The reason why the Angels make it to the playoffs every year is because they are the most consistent team in their division.

Even if you don't believe the Yanks will not make it, I dont understand why you think the wild card will come from the AL Central.

The Twins are not legit. For someone who is advocating not judging a team based on current streaks, you are being hypocritical. The Twins are merely streaking right now. Their pitching will not perform at this rate in the long run. The only one of them who can consistently deliver is Scott Baker. Besides Morneau and Mauer, I do not think they have any proven hitters. Guys like Span, Casilla, and Gomez are good. But they seem to be experiencing a lot of what the Dbacks had in the first weeks of the season.

As for the White Sox, I think they will win the Central because they no team comes close to them in that division. Their offense has struggled with clutch hitting, but is otherwise solid. Their pitchers struggle on the road for the most part, but can deliver at home.
And they have a good bullpen; although, it has been struggling of late.

If you are going to rule out the Yankees, I suggest you do that in August or September because they seem to always make late comebacks. They are only 6.5 games out.

i am not ruling yanks out of the playoffs, but they wont win the division, and iof they make the playoffs, they will lose in 3 or 4 like always
they have no pen, mediocre pitching, no defense, and talk about streaky, they dont even hit

the twins have a great pen, starters who do not walk runners, the best manager in baseball, team speed and good hitting
delmon youhg will get going, gomez, span, and casilla are legit

the twins are a better team than new york

You are right, the Yankees are inconsistent. However, I would be willing to make a large wager that the Yankees get their act together in the second half. This year is slightly different than previous years for the yanks since it is their pitching that is better than their hitting. That has a lot to do with Matsui and Damon being out. It's funny that you say the Yanks have a bad bullpen considering their bullpen is number 8 in the majors. They also have the fewest blown saves out of any team in the majors.

they have the best closer, and joba is no longer in the pen, so you know that number 8 isnt exactly true
is matsui going to come back? if so it changes things
is posada hurt all year? those are big questions

The Angels are definitely an interesting team to select for a world series prop.
