Do you guys see any major mismatches for the Opening day games Thurs and Fri?

I like the Phillies with Halladay vs Myers
    Cardinals with Carpenter going
    Rockies with Jimenez...

What do you guys think about that Reds vs Brewers matchup?

haven't seen Gallardo pitch but Volquez is nasty right?? Both teams can swing the sticks .. Reds are the play?

yes reds are the play... Gallardo might be the most inconsistent pitcher in the mlb. Reds made it to playoffs last year and want to start off strong this year especially with their division getting better with the cubs and brews.

Agreed. Volquez blows right now. He can't find the strike zone and is barely on pace to be ready after missing time sorting out his VC issues. Gallardo isn't bad, but The Reds hit him well. Feels like an Over type game.

it does feel like an over type of game but I bet the line will be set according like always... both good hitting teams, hitters park, day game, starters may not go deep in the game... etc....

Is there any games you see on either Thursday or Friday that look like easy wins. I know the lines aren't out and some of the favorites could possibly be -300 ML and up but does any game look like you can def pick the right side?

Gallardo may well be the most underrated pitcher in the NL. Dont forget he's just 25 and the last couple of years he struggled making though the full season having poor showings in august.

Yes Volquez is good, but Gallardo will be, by far, the better pitcher.

Hochevar sucks. Weaver will school the Royals.

    Kershaw/Lince....talk about a matchup.

Verlander is going to be a nice value @ NYY. Yanks will be unwarranted heavy favorites on Thursday and Verlander has been the best pitcher in baseball this spring (2 ER, ERA under 1)

Also, Granderson and possibly Feliciano start year on DL

I think you're right about this game. Yankees will be the favorites but I think seeing as it's the first game of the season and it's the Yankees (of course) the public is going to pound the crap out of that line.

What about the Cubs vs Pirates????

Cubs win here right with Dempster on the mound? I am a little surprised Garza isn't the opening day starter but Dempster should win here right?

Looking at 3 team Parlay for Friday

    Cubs ML
    Phillies ML
    Rockies ML

    Also considering
    Marlins ML
    White Sox ML
    Rays ML

Ill be on the Indians ML, Fausto has been pitching real well this spring and if the Indians are going win a game during this series it will most likely be opening day

Cards w/Carpenter RL. Tim Stauffer opening day pitcher? Are you kidding me?? The guy is an unproven minor leaguer. He's been going back and forth from minor and major. Pads have no power now that A. Gonzales is Gone. Their reliable hitting 2nd baseman is gone. Their starting catcher is struggling. The have no reliable backup catcher. The pads starting lineup consists off B. Hawp, O. Hudson, J. Bartlett, C. Headly, R. Ludwig, N. Huntley, J. Cantu. I can't remember who's the last one is. Don't expect another miracle season from this SD team. C Young w/1.63 ERA in preseason is now w/Mets. M Latos is on DL.

Id stay away from the Reds/Brew as well could def go either way depending on which pitchers show up for each respected team, they could be lights out or all over the place, that said. Yes Opening Day is HUGE in the Nati. No where else in the MLB is it bigger.

it is possible if Peavy returns to ace form, White Sox will have the offense and the bullpen is stellar

I think Danks and Floyd have big years and each win 17 for the White Sox...
    As for Opening day lines..
    I saw a few

Angels were -150 over KC.. Normally I am a dog guy, but I think KC is going to be garbage and Weaver should strike out 10 against their young hitters

I think the Reds/Brewers will probably play over.. though i am leaning on the Brewers. Think Gallardo is ready to break out..

I am a Yankees fan, but I will never turn down Verlander getting ML value..

I know the Pods are going to be crap, but I will take a shot ML with them against STL. Cards have trouble scoring

    I think Phils/Hou goes Under.

I will also take a shot with Livian Hernandez v the Braves

came in to say this. CC has been better this spring than he has in the past. Even still, with his well documented slow first two months of baseball... I will be on the Tigers 100%! Verlander has looked excellent and the number should only get better for the Tigers as we approach the game.

I like the Reds at basically even money now. Season opener at home with the better pitcher going. Gallardo has struggled against Cincy in the past and Corey Hart is out for MIL
