Ellsbury got robbed he had key winning hits in last 2 games. 440 average or something like that. I did not expect him to get it though because you kind of got to give it to a key player on team who got them to play offs then preformed well in the World Series.
Lowell had a great year and a great series so is a good choice IMO.

The World Series MVP is, as the name suggests, the MVP for the World Series. Nothing to do with getting to the play-offs. To be honest, there were 4 or 5 players who could have got it for Boston. But Lowell's amazing 1.300 OPS must surely have been the deciding factor.

You could make an argument that Brian Fuentes was Boston's MVP.

Lowell, Ellsbury, Papelbon, as well as each of the 4 starters in the series, were all worthy.

    Oh I know.
But they won't give it in a close race to the rookie who did not even have enough at bats to qualify for regular season records.
if you put Ramirez Jersey on Ellsbury back and he gets it IMO.
I was joking about him getting robbed though. I think Lowell is an outstanding choice.
My references was how its like the Gold Glove - they give it to the big name players and overlook some more deserving players in many cases.
I was happy to see it be Lowell and not a starting pitcher.

Add Pedroia and Varitek (who I think got the most RBIs). But not really the starters who only pitched a single game. If Beckett had gone in a game 5 and was lights out again, then you could have added him to the equation. But I think it's a very fairly awarded MVP.

He was a starter. Went to the 8th in Game 3 giving up one run when on the mound (and giving up a run from Willis' pitching, I think). He lost that game but went on to pitch game 6 on short rest and shutout the Yankees to clinch the WS.

You could have given it to 3 or 4 people. Lowell is not a bad choice.
