Baseball is in a bad place. Bip will still figure out a way to penetrate this all up.

More times than not money won't buy you a championship.

Even Steinbrenner's Yankees didn't become a dynasty until after he got suspended and was banned from conducting business for a while.

That's when Gene Michael took the reins, and without interference from the boss was able to develop the 'core four'.
    (Jeter, Pettitte, Posada, Bernie)

Now more than ever it's easier to hate on the Dodgers.

So 2-300 million for a pitcher that has never faced the MLB before? At least in the draft, they have smaller contracts and even that's ridiculous giving some 18 year old X amount of coin based on scouts and numbers.......pffffttttt.

That's a false narrative. Just because Ohtani, Yamamoto, and Nor Cal native Aaron Judge rejected Giants contract offers doesn't mean anything. Oh yeah, and the criminal element there attacks and knocks out Asians for sport.

By "criminal element" do you mean Irish immigrants?

How much for a dog now, twelve bucks?
It's gone in three bites and then you have to belch just to see how it tasted.

It's complete BS how they are skirting the luxury tax by deferring money....I'm surprised MLB is allowing this.

Anyways, what will their excuse be when they shit themselves in the playoffs this time?

Baseball is boring as fock to watch. I like betting on it though.

Can't pay me to go to a Dodger game these days. If I go I'll probably have to worry about getting car jacked by gun point in the Dodger Stadium parking lot. It's just not worth all the hassles. Needless to say you have to battle traffic forever getting there as the freeways in LA are always jammed packed.

I use to go to Dodger games all the time. Not any more.

On a side note - I'm sure the Dodger ticket prices will be jacked now that they paid this Jap a HUGE fortune.

I think the Doyers think the investment will payoff since Japan is a huge baseball country.

It's a gamble but it can payoff big time.

I go to 4-5 Jays games a year. I find it to be nice to watch in person. The playoffs are fantastic IMO.

You can't get me to watch regular season baseball regularly though. It is what it is.

Betting is great though because I'm a ml bettor. I want to bet on sports where you pick a winner not spreads.

Yes it's definitely busy and congested not to mention crazy expensive but the renovation looks good and getting better this upcoming season. . I went to the third game vs Milwaukee in 1989. Sat in the nosebleeds the walk on the stairs was enough for me to never go up there again lol.

I was at both parades in 1992/93. Good excuse to get out of school and get drunk lol.

This is more about dominating a market (Japan) than winning a championship. The Blue Jays wanted to sign Ohtani for pretty much the same reason. He was more of an investment entity than a key to winning the pennant. The Angels did something similar with Albert Pujols before they struck it rich with their new TV deal after they signed him.

It is okay, with that manager they will not win anything. He has already shown the world what he does with a roster full of All Stars.

Yankees stacked their team with the highest payroll in the MLB and we know what happened with that. Let's see what happens with the Dodgers now?

Isn't this standard procedure for all pitchers signed to $100 million dollar contracts or more? You think Verlander or Scherzer don't have clauses like this?
