    How is this latest move good for baseball? The guy is deferring $680 million of the deal so only $2 million counts against the cap. There should be a rule that 75% of it has to be paid out during the contract years at a minimum. I also thought teams had a debt ceiling... This is basically debt.

    Definitely some type of a loophole. Dodgers are basically getting him for free and than some since that $680 mil will be making way more than 2 mil a year for the next 10 years.

    Bobby Bo was lightyears ahead of his time. Guy is set at $1m a year and made good investments. One of the better players story of success.

    Team salary caps are a joke. Like everything else… someone will always build a better mouse trap.
