    Mets fans will be happy

At least they made it to the post season this year that is the one goal the Mets had.

Say what? umm, cohen didn’t shove “all-in” just for a playoff appearance
Cohen spent a record $282,709,066 to win the pennant and the world series

those goals changed once they had a 10.5 game lead and were paying 43 million for scherzer. this was a very winnable scenario for them to make the NLDS at least. i could understand a loss to the dodgers but they should have been the #2 seed.

I wonder how much it cost him for not filling the stands for at least 1 or two divisional games against the Dodgers.

Mets have a lot of good players that are free agents.

The owner is willing to spend money so they will field a competitive squad but it could look a lot different next year.

Nimmo is very underrated...he gets on base at a high clip and is a solid all around player.

Love Nimmo but if there’s one negative about him is that he has a weak arm. Will the Mets pay top dollar that Boras will demand? My guess is they probably will. Home grown kid.

The only free agent they have that Id pay top dollar for is Diaz. I’d also lock up Alonso and McNiel before they hit the market.

Everyone else, they either sign a reasonable contract or let them walk. They can’t give everyone top dollar.

I don’t want everyone back anyways. Who wants to watch this shiT show again?

diaz has to be a priority. they do not win 100 games this year without him at the end of games, and he is just 28 years old

42,000+ not in the seats. You are right, those would have been a couple nice gates for the mets

Gotta score runs if you wanna win in the playoffs

Pitching way overrated, paying all these guys ludacris sums

All u gotta do is get on base and make clutch hits

Alonso is swinging for the fences on every single pitch

Padres have a much better hitting lineup than the mets, plain and simple

Guy is 2 pitches away from a career-ending injury. Other teams should be wary.

I'd love for the Padres to try and snag him...Myers contract and a few others are off the books next year.

Been a friar fan since the Durham error in '84; called Garvey's 3 run blast that Saturday night off Big Lee Smith at a Cub party, everybody blamed me. Oh well, had SD series wager, wtf else could I call? BOL Jake, Again.

I remember watching that series in my 3rd grade classroom...my teacher had the TV rolled in for the games.

That Garvey homer off Smith was something else!

Thank you B.OA, it is going to be a tall order to beat the Dodgers but I think the Padres have better starting pitching so who knows...

Us Padre fans do not get many joyful moments so I am savoring the win from yesterday and will worry about the Dodgers come tomorrow.

I do wonder if this could be the perfect storm for the Padres? The Dodgers have not played a meaningful game for months as they have had the division locked up and on cruise control. The Padres had to scratch, claw and battle a lot of adversity just to get in and have essentially been playing playoff games for around a month now. Will any of that matter? I sure hope so

Probably dominate as he usually does...

I like Houston to come out of the AL but the Mariners are pretty good and it is going to be crazy for the game/s in Seattle as they have not had playoff baseball for ~20 years.

That is what I'm seeing at Heritage.

Not thrilled that Clevinger is starting game 1, hopefully he can step up.
