    coin flips

Giolitto doesn't do well with pressure or adversity, Luzurdo an unknown young quantity

going to come down to whichever team's hitters are "on" the most for the next 3 days

White Sox over achieved most of the year. hitters regressed to mean and young bats got exposed near end of year

    example

Luis Robert's rookie surge led them to many victories early on this year

in September he had 10 singles and 1 HR and 32 Ks in 81 ABS. The league figured him out to basically turn him into a bad hitting pitcher at the plate this month with a .136/.173/.409 slash

does he re adjust in the next 3 days? I wouldn't bet on it.

White Sox are 14-0 against starting lefties this "season". That being said, they are 2-8 in their last 10 games. A's are only slightly better at 5-5 in their last 10 but are 22-10 at home.

Giolito last three starts: 0-1 4.08

Luzardo last three starts: 1-0 4.61

I'll go with the A's at home +110 in game 1.

Renteria is a horrible manager. Melvin should easily outwit him in the wild-card round

I don't know about all that, but I feel like you're on the right track here. Giolito had a 4.18 era in Sept while Luzardo was at 4.62. Both teams have relentless lineups so I like Over 7.5 in this one.

Of course they'll go to the pen early, but their pens aren't fantastic. Oakland had a great pen 2-3 years ago when Treinen was the closer, but he's long gone.

Coin flip. If you pick heads and it lands heads, you'll say you knew all along.

I have no idea, but I say Sox win. Then again, I could be wrong.

Oakland Pen was the only reason they are in the position they are in now.. First 35 games was the best in the league.. Won games for them

The only playoff experience they have is losing.

When's the last time the SOX even made the playoffs? I honestly can't remember. Must have been 10 years or so. So is it better to make the playoffs like the A's and choke or to just suck and never make the playoffs in futility like the SOX?

I’ll take the unknown and potential. I’ve seen enough of this A’s team to know they should not be expected to win the 1st round of the postseason.

I wonder if we'll see an inning from Giolito if it's tight late.

wouldn't be surprised to see Daner go 7-8 STRONG innings and hand the ball off to the real pen though

Madrigal on 1st with 2 outs and Anderson doubles down the line and he doesn't score? You have to go there? If you get thrown out then so be it. That was stupid
