OH THE HUMANITY ! (Matt Harvey makes his 3rd start tonight.

I can't believe the Royals are sending out Matt Harvey again tonight.

Oh the humanity! Hide the women and children, Matt Harvey is on the mound again.
What? Ray Charles isn't available to pitch?

In case you haven't been paying attention this is what Mr. Harvey has done in his two previous starts.

Date Tm Opp Rslt Inngs Dec IP H R ER BB SO HR HBP ERA BF Pit Str StL AB Entered Exited

I think I see a trend here, poor Matt will not see the fourth inning, will give up 5 hits, 4 earned runs, throw 54 pitches of which say 32 of them will be for strikes and of those 32 strikes Harvey throws one of them will find it's away over the fence into the visiting teams bullpen.

Now, having said all this watch him throw a 6 inning 1 hit gem.
(but I'm not counting on it)

There's numerous ways to be this thing one way is to.

    a) not bet this thing at all.
    b) Indians on the money line -193 (too much juice there)
    c) Indians team total over 5.5 runs +105 (but you need six runs to collect)
    d) Indians First Five Innings.
    e) Indians run line (reduced juice) - 1.5 runs -125

His first few years with the mets was special you rarely see a guy from new york come from nothing and make something of himself.

I wouldn't say he came from nothing.
There's sports up and down the Harvey DNA.
His dad was a multi-sports star too here in Connecticut.
Both Matt and dad were hoops and baseball HS standouts.

When Matt was in HS here he was appointed 'must see'.
All the locals watched this 16 year old with 100 mph fastball pitch.

He was first team All American in HS.
Pretty much 1/2 of MLB wanted to sign him.
(Eventually signed by the Mets for a million dollars)

UCONN wanted him badly but could only offer him a partial scholarship where as North Carolina blew him out of the water will a full ride, a four year scholarship with all the bells and whistles.

He really didn't come out of nowhere.
Struck out 11 in his MLB debut, he was going to be the next big thing.
"The Dark Knight" and all that hoop-la.

Then he had shoulder problems, then Tommy John surgery.
Not to mention all his press clippings were going to his head.
He was making bad decisions off the field, and was also getting bad advice.
He never really got over the TJ surgery either.

He's still only 31 years old so I wouldn't bury his career yet, but know this, he better find his groove real fast because Matt's first three starts this season has resulted in him being the butt-end of a bad joke.

He's been beyond butt ugly and so freaking hitable that replacement players are teeing off.
