What about the Cards? Seen them hit these ace pitchers over the years in the World Series, seen them hit ace closers to in the clutch no problem.

Only guy I've ever seen shut down a team by himself is Bumgarner. All these other ace pitchers people talk about can be gotten to. Even Kershaw has been lit up many times in the playoffs by the Cards. Got lit up this year too, his offense is just playing great behiind him.

I don't like teams who rely on HRs only too, keep the chain moving, singles, doubles.

You remember the Oakland athletics of the late 80's and early 90's? Remember how the reds an dodgers shut them down with great pitching? The great Yankees dynasty was all about pitching. As the great Yankees pitchers moved on or got old the team faded away. The hitting was great still. Remember when the tigers shut down that Yankees murderers row?

Pitching is the most important thing in baseball.

Astros have no shot if verlander goes less than 7 innings, and even if he goes 7 or 8 it will be very tough.

if it goes to game 7 its a yankees blowout.

also verlander has an era over 6 in a start following throwing 120+ pitches.

Think the day off will prove to be good for the Astros. Take a deep breath, hit the batting practice and wake these mofos up.

Sure, could say same for Yankees. Except the wake up part.

Make it a point to listen to a Cleveland Indians radio broadcast if you haven't before. Tom Hamilton is awesome, pretty unbiased, and gets real excited on the big hits, good defensive plays...for both teams. A ton of enthusiasm for the game of baseball.

Think Yanks were the better play tomorrow than today. It's all about getting to Houston's pen, Verlander isn't allowing that to happen.
