Timmy lincecum, who picks him up?

Who takes a shot at free agent lincecum?

As a reliever perhaps? He's scheduled to hold open workouts in front of 20 potential teams this week.

Could help virtually any club. Just a matter of price point and contractual demand.

i don't think you can call it a fall from grace, he's had some bad years since 2011 but he was still winning 10+ games and pitching to a mid 4 ERA. Obviously compared to his early years when his ERA was around 2.5 each year, but I'm sure there have been bigger falls from grace

Either way the Yankees have to get this guy, their rotation is some inconsistent aside from Tanaka.

I imagine that teams would only offer a minor league deal

not just gonna drop someone from their 40 man AND 25 man roster to take a chance on a guy just from watching him throw a bullpen session

pitching takes a great toll on your joints and ligaments, with every single pitch you lose a little bit of performance

you just cant be as good in your fifth year as you were in your first etc

Padres will pay and pick up any big time name pitchers. Padres paid Mark Prior $1 Mill if he could pitch before the All-Star game. Prior ended up getting injured again.

This is so true. Every pitcher has been at the very top their first year in the MLB and declined from there on.

The Giants have ruined him just like they ruined Zito.

Bumgarner will be retired before he's 30.

A lot of people predicted this years ago when he was in his prime because of how small he is. Didn't think his body would hold up.

He designed a delivery to take the toll off his arm, but he forgot to consider the impact on his hips.

its a slow process obviously, and as pitchers gain experience it makes up for this wear and tear, but eventually it catches up with you. for some sooner than others

Tim Lincecum scouting report from scout in attendance: "He threw 41 pitches mostly 89/91 looked healthy profiles as middle or set - up reliever Value in the 1.5m range on 1-year deal for me"
