MLB postponed game to protect Yanks after depressing performance

it's overcast in NYC.. but not raining by any stretch

after the way the Wanks played last night, there
was absolutely no way for them to come in and play well..
they would be still be hungover emotionally

if MLB gives them an extra day to forget and wiped the slate clean,
they have a much better chance to play a decent game

typical preferred treatment for big market teams that feed MLB
with the luxury tax penalties. Any excuse to protect and help the yanks

    ________________________________________ ___________

Yanklebergs are taking big hit tho'–– attendance wayyyy down..
They averaged low 30's for Baltimore series. empty Stadium

Yankee payroll only cost-effective when stands are packed every game

absolutely something off about this.. this is like being saved by the bell in boxing.
sometimes a fighter just needs to get out of that round. If a few more blows are landed
that boxer is out on the floor.

This extra day allows the yanks a chance to regroup and mentally put it behind
them because it was not the fiasco that happened in LESS than the last 24 hrs.

They played so badly last night in an absolute MUST-WIN game against an Orioles
team with a 6.00 ERA pitcher (U.Jimenez) and a big bat out (Adam Jones)

Yanks would have come out having their heads still from yesterday.
If the Blue jays come in a take thm out easy in Game 1, they could flip that into
    4 straight pretty easy.

MLB wants the Yankees to get in the playoffs as the Division winners.
because you have 10 Million+ more viewers per playoff game.. which
is millions more dollars for the executives.

Networks pays MLB and MLB pays the Networks

it's how this business works. A lot of American viewers are actually disturbed by a Canadian team
winning the Division, and occupying a spot that should go to an American team.

I live around the area and OP is a delusional canuck as always. It started pouring here at around 5PM and didn't let up one bit. There was no chance at getting any game in here and the U.S. open postponed all their matches too. Terrible troll attempt by a low IQ toronto fan.

    U. Jimenez has an ERA of 6.00??

I guess 4.22 is the new 6.00 when it fits your agenda.

OP once again proves his ignorance....Good lord, just give it UP man it's embarrassing how bad you are embarrassing yourself.

I live 10 miles from Yankee stadium New York Had major storms in the afternoon Field took a ton of water No reason to play in those conditions and risk injury. Not to mention fans dont want to drive on flooded roads or sit in Yankee stadium on a cold rainy night and wait to find out if it will be played. The right choice was made

Glad to hear it from someone that close to the stadium that it made sense. I kept seeing conflicting weather reports. Although the Pats game looked pretty nasty after the 3Q.

    Yanks a bit f•cked here...
tomorrow is a double-header.. they need their Bullpen INTACT.

but it's 5-0 already.. and Girardi picked up the phone before the 2nd out.
do they just let this game go and preserve the Bullpen?

they don't want Toronto on a huge roll going into tomorrow...
can they score 5 Runs on Price...

will it ONLY be 5 Runs? probably more.. maybe 7
can the Yankees score 7 Runs

    so many questions

Severino is good & Girardi better let him play it out.... If he goes to the bullpen early in this game the series is over

    1) i do live in Manhattan

    2) it is not the Bronx. to get to the Bronx i have to take the 4 Train all the way up to 161st
it is far enough to rain in the Bronx, and not in Manhattan at the same time

    3) i have seen Yankee games, where it is raining where i am am, and they are playing in the Bronx
    and vice-versa

    4) it rained for 30 min in manhattan where i am.

    5) what MLB was trying to avoid was what happened last night. a 5 Run 1st Inning, where
Girardi was thinking about pulling his starter.
