    Question: When a starting pitcher fails epic, why not substitute him ?

    J. Samardzija is really having a bad game, why not just replace him with the bullpen?

    because then you are taxing your pen and possibly costing yourself several gms instead of just letting the starter stay out there and take 1 for the team...

    Exactly my point, why did they not sub him when it was 5 - 0 ?

    I think the bullpen will shutdown the mets now, and we see, but sometimes baseball makes no sense.

    Especially when you starting pitcher has been up previous night doing lines of cocaine....
