    Wainright only -135 against the Rays?!?????

    WTF? I understand the Cards have struggled as of late and wainright hasn't exactly been "wainright" his last couple outings...but this is against a rays team that looks like the worst team in baseball and against Jake Odorizza who's been one of the worst pitchers in baseball this season.

    Thoughts?

    Odorizzi hasnt been one of the worst pitchers in baseball but he definitely hasnt been a good one. Don't overthink it and back wainwright. The Rays couldn't hit Erasmo Ramirez yesterday and they won't hit Wainwright. Play both the ML & RL.

    Actually Waino pitched a gem his last gm in KC. Held them down and gave them nothing. However he went into the 9th actually struck out the leadoff hitter but Molina fumbled it and put him on 1st. After that everything went to shit and he settled for a no decision.

    I agree Odorizzi is trash....but think about it King Felix who has been down right unhittable this year was only -122 vs them...im down over thinking it...CARDS it is

    "Sharps" gotta be fading because Waino pitched so well and deep into last start. That's the only thing I can come up with. But still not a good enough excuse to bet Tampa. Maybe Cards FF or under I'm thinking.... Good winnin!

    Unfortunately that cannot be the case because 3 times this year Wainwright threw over 110 pitches in a game then followed by allowing 1 earned run over 23 innings(3 starts)

    His FIP is 3.15. His peripheral numbers are bad though and a lot of that has to do with the team around him.
    He's had his bad share of games but to consider him in the echelon of Joe Saunders, Kevin Correia and Colby Lewis is a reach for me.

These problems didn't start recently they have been terrible at the plate for years and relied on pitching/defense Atlanta style. Its all coming apart now they just are not a good team.
