    Roy Oswalt Retires

He hoped to pitch in 2014 but has apparently packed it in after not finding any suitors.

Sad to hear. He was a great pitcher with the astros in the early 2000s

he was great and one of my faves to take in my dominance of fantasy baseball way back then...
what great stuff for a lil guy, especially his prime years. Sux he had such injuries and all the minor league rehab just to pitch again..

He was such a Reds killer for so long, although they put together some lousy teams when he was dominating them.

I loved him on the Houston Astros. He was a great pitcher. He was buddies with Jake Peavy as Oswalt taught Peavy alot about pitching.

Was my favorite Astros players for many years. Still have my Oswalt jersey shirt. The Wizard of Os!

A bit surprised it took him this long to retire because he had talked retirement when he was still with Houston way back in 2010. Really though his last year with the Phils should have been it, but like many athletes apparently he found it hard to walk away.

Top 3 all-time for the 'Stros among pitchers IMO. Nolan Ryan, Mike Scott & Roy Oswalt. Joe Niekro right up there too. I think Niekro leads Houston with all-time Ws, Oswalt second. Solid career.

Oswalt was a real stud pitcher, sad to see him gone.
