If your average odds were -200 and u hit 70% u would actually profit, granted you would have to make an absurd amount of bets in order to make any kind of money.

You claim that you are new, so I will give some free advice. What separates Scamdicappers from real handicappers is how they list their record and return.
What you are selling is your Skills, your education, your commitment, your information. You are not selling your picks, per se. Sure a winning record is important, but if you are trying to be a legitimate Tout, you must understand this distinction.
In reality, Units and Records are worthless. You can be 50 - 0 claiming a 100% win record, but what if all your picks are on Nadal at -10000 in the first round?. Or if you say you are up 20 units, well that doesnt tell anyone anything either because you could have lost 20 straight at one unit each than threw a hail mary and won a 40 unit pick. So you could be up 20 units, but its only because you got lucky one one pick with a record of 1 - 20.
This is why a code of handicapping ethics was devised to separate the geniuses from the con artists.
All plays must be to risk one unit to win whatever, regardless what you bet in real life and all side spreads need to be listed at -110, even if you can get reduced juice somewhere at -108. (An exception to this is if -108 available to all at all the books which does happen in certain situations.)
so if you list a play at -200, than what your record will show is that you risked one unit to win 0.50. Not, risk 2 units to win 1, even if thats how you bet it personally.
Also, never list 1 - 5 star picks, or bets of the year, because that to is a marketing scam. Real handicappers make a bet when there is value, and determining value is a extremely hard nut to break, so again, you list the bet at risk 1 to win x and leave out all the fluff and hype.
Let your ROI% do the talking , and if risking one unit to win x units makes a profit, than that alone will do all the advertising you need for you...

I dont see anything wrong with a handicapper with an occasional one or two a week (2 unit or even 3 unit ) bet. I dont see how thats "unethical" or "misleading" anyone can check anyones picks and see for themselves. I know many handicappers who bet 2-3 unit bets and I think none the less of them for it (and I DO IT TOO!) mainly when I see MORE VALUE than my normal bettting criteria... now when you get up into the 5x 10x....or your average bet is 2-3 units, well thats just foolish,....something to think about though, maybe I will start tracking my (average unit bet #) each season as well and clarify it within the recordkeeping Originally Posted by El Sol
