Alex Cobb (Tampa) -126 over Andy Pettitte (New York)

I don't mind playing short favorites every now and then.

Shhhh, don't look now but Alex Cobb has turned into a an extremely dependable starter.
Numbers this year are rock solid. 2-1 record, 2.53 ERA, 1.27 WH/IP ratio. Across the board solid, 15 K's in 21 IP's suggest his pitches are missing a lot of bats.

Even last season ,in 23 starts, he posted that same WH/IP ratio while winning 11 games. His ERA was higher last season, but everything else is consistent, K ratio, pretty much what you see is what you get.

Now, factor in that the NYY line up tonight is soft, I like the play even more.
No Youk in the middle of the order, it lacks punch.
NYY 6-9 batters not exactly murderers row.

    Brett Gardner CF
    Ichiro Suzuki LF
    Robinson Cano 2B
    Travis Hafner DH
    Francisco Cervelli C
    Lyle Overbay 1B
    Eduardo Nunez SS
    Brennan Boesch RF
    Jayson Nix 3B

Here's what Cobb has done with the Yankees in the past
Not a big cross section, but something to consider.

This lineup can hit Andy tonight also.

    Desmond Jennings CF
    Ryan Roberts 2B
    Ben Zobrist RF
    Evan Longoria 3B
    Sean Rodriguez 1B
    Yunel Escobar SS
    Shelley Duncan DH
    Jose Molina C
    Kelly Johnson LF

Tampa., at home, at a very reasonable -126 is my play tonight.
I have no problem laying 6:5 in this spot.

was on the yanks yesterday and this looks like a good spot to take the rays. Cobb has been solid so far and Youkilis missing will definitely be a big factor.

not with the line-up they got tonight.

I don't understand Maddon, if you let Cobb start the ninth, don't yank him after Gardner hit a 32 hop single through the right side.
Not like he croaked it. Pitch count was at 103, no big deal. Cobb starts the ninth and finishes the ninth if I am skipper, unless he gets croaked and two men on. Cobb earned the right to finish what he started. That's why Rays will never win crap, crappy manager.

    Glad to help out guys.
