    Andre Dawson

Got the chance to meet him tonight but anyways do you guys think he is Hall worthy? 1977 Roy, 1987 MVP, 8 time All Star and 8 time Gold Glove. He is 1 of 3 players to hit 300 HR's and steal 300 bases the others being Barry Bonds* and Willie Mays.

without a doubt.. one of the very few with 300 HR's and 300 SB's.. in fact, he's got 438 hrs.

the guy was great. an all rounder.. great OF, great range, great arm.. power hitter, just an all rounder

    i say YES.. and easily..

Rank them both about the same as well, reno. With Rice going in now, Dawson shouldn't be too far behind.

Dawson will make it next year with the class being very weak. First year eligible players that have a shot are Roberto Alomar, Barry Larkin and Fred McGriff

Remember, he did what he did on two bad knees. Olympic stadium's turf destroyed the guy.

I really hope he makes it, imagine if he played in this era and took roids like the rest of today's players, this guy would of hit 600 HR's and been a no brainer into the hall. I would take that into consideration.

Is Larkin getting in? I hope he does. All around excellent shortstop. Don't know if his stats are good enough.

Alomar's the only lock I see next year. Dawson should get in, but he won't be first ballot. I don't think they'll make him wait 15 years like they did Jim Rice, though. Maybe 3rd or 4th year.

Actually, after pulling my head out of my ass I looked it up and this was Dawson's 9th year on the ballot. He got 67%, tops among the ones who didn't get in. Burgundy is right, I think he can make it next year. I do think Alomar has a solid shot at first ballot, as he was generally considered the best all-around 2nd baseman of his era, a switch-hitter with speed and power and 10 gold gloves. But upon reflection, perhaps he won't get in because of that spitting incident with the umpire.

They oughta just vote in Dawson and Blyleven and let those poor guys off the hook. Dawson was a better player and outfielder than Rice on almost every count, especially on defense.

Dawson is not a HOF'er. He may make it in if he goes up against a weak class though. Don't feel Rice deserved it either. These are GREAT players, but the Hall should be reserved for the best of the best.

yeh it belongs to the roiders, roll eyes, you do know the players of today are not better than the players of the late 70's and early to late 80s right.

Great player, but there's one thing he didn't have...plate discipline. Low on walks, huge strike zone. Top pitchers knew this, and would take that big sweeping cut. Didn't want to get cheated.

Plate discipline is one element that doesn't easily show up in the triple-crown categories. So, very good player, but a little overrated, really.

    Absolutely Hall worthy.

2nd favorite cubbie of all time right there. One of the cooler batting stances in the game.

Got to meet and talk with him not too long ago. His only complaint is going in as an Expo. He wanted to be inducted as a Cub.
