    Why Is A-Rod Pinch Hitting?

I'm very confused at this Yankees team... this is ridiculous.

Manager should be fired for this move.

Whole team needs to be put in check and analyzed. If you're going to pinch hit for him.... just start him. What kind of example are you setting? You don't need him... now you need him...

ibanez against a lefty is a guaranteed strikeout.

the funny part is that eric chavez is 0-16 with 8 strikeout, but people are bitching about arod.

Strange. Many sports radio guys here in the ny area said he would never be in the batters box again as a Yankee!

It makes plenty of sense, all year you do one thing & now when it counts change everything completely & expect your hitters confidence to go up....

Damn retards, the media controls these tards

if major league baseball players are so emotionally fragile by changing the line up then i wouldn't want those players on a team anyway.

i would much rather have players that don't give fukk but just want to win.

what people should be bitching about is how robertson and soriano only pitched 2 innings and the rest of the bullpen pitched 12.1.

slave to the save destroys teams chances.

even if the yankees had a less than one percent chance to win. using derrick lowe instead of one of those two is poor managing. i guess he wanted to save them for next year.

give people a chance to take a photo of his last yankee ab...?

I don't think he'll really be gone though.

If a guy like Soriano who had an improved year, couldn't get salary dumped by the Cubs this summer to a contender, i'm not sure the market is there for any team taking on the baggage. GM's and ownership groups are changing their tune.

does the portion of his salary that they eat in a trade count toward their salary for luxury tax purposes?

along with the amount. it is important to know the number of player that salary is attributed to. if they still have to sign 12 players, then that is a larger number.

Soft Cap/Lux Tax threshold is 178 million again for 2013. by the time the season starts, FA's are signed and Arbitrations are final I guess the Yanks could be near that threshold and be in jeopardy of paying 40% of what they are over.

even if they trade arod they would still need to find a third baseman. the yankees aren't going to run chavez out there every game.

at a glance, not counting the players like Granderson that have club options it looks like the following players need to be replaced

    Rivera (interesting one)
    Swisher
    Ichiro
    Kuroda
    Martin
    freddy garcia
    Hughes?
    Petite
    Mcgehee
    andruw jones
    Boone Logan
    Ibanez
    Chavez
    Nix

quite a few up for arbitration

so that is two pitchers with others being used as pitching depth. there is no way they don't go over unless they tank next year.

there farm system is pretty barren too so they can't go there for pitching help. i guess they get nova and pineda back next year though.

yeah barren at AA and AAA

got some studs that were at High A this year, so I guess they'll have some at AA and a year away.

they need about 3 of-ers, and 2 catchers, and couple bullpen arms, and 2-3 starters

the best part about this arod situation is it is a glimpse at the horror angels fans will have in a few years.
