Fails the eyeball test. He has the look of a steroid guy, just didn't get named on any of the leaked reports. For a borderline guy that is not gonna help. So if Bagwell gets in does Delgado get in too?

It warms my heart to see that Jack Morris hasn't been mentioned. For some reason a lot of people like to pretend he was somehow good enough to be worthy of the Hall-of-Fame. Not really all that close

Dave Kingman was paid to help his team win. And there are at least 100 players who helped their team more than he did who aren't in the Hall-of-Fame

Jeff Bagwell is the best eligible player not in the Hall-of-Fame. Joe Torre should be in for what he did as a player and manager. Tim Raines (better than Murphy) deserves to be in. Dwight Evans was far better than Rice and Dawson and Perez.of Trammell is another good choice mentioned. Other than those few, none of the names listed exceed the standards set by the writers

A lot of guys wouldn't be too horrible: Dick Allen, Minnie Minoso, Fred Lynn, Keith Hernandez, Murphy, Will Clark, Larry Walker, but at some point you have to understand that there will be a lot of very good players who weren't good enough

Tommy John is close to being the best pitcher not in the Hall-of-Fame. I'll take Kevin Brown over him, though

Corked his bat? That guy had to be on steroids too.....it is so obvious.

You start putting those types of guys in you're gonna double the size of the place in a few years. None of them were good enough for a long enough time.

Can make at least some case for all these guys. Only a few mentioned above:

    Norm Cash
    Allie Reynolds
    Jerry Koosman
    Edgar Martinez
    Vada Pinson
    Luis Tiant
    Andres Galaraga
    Tim Raines
    Ted Simmons
    Kieth Hernandez
    Lee Smith
    Maury Wills
    Ken Boyer

I have left Jack Morris off this list. Although he was the winningest pitcher of a decade, he's been on too many lists.

Kingman did provide a few cheap thrills at Wrigley when he hit balls through second flooor windows
of buildings across Waveland Avenue. At least once he hit, on the fly, the front porch of the second building on the north-south street that dead ends at Waveland. Jack Brickhouse almost shit his pants describing these feats. At the end of the day however, a few cheap thrills was all he ever provided though he did probably provide them roid free. So his inclusion in this discussion, while almost comical, is nevertheless colorful..

    Larry Walker HOF worthy

He may make the Rockies HOF if there's such a thing.

Murphy absolutly should be in but only has 1yr left to make it, he's been on the ballot for 14yrs and you're only eligible for 15yrs. He should of went in with Larkin last year.

Tommy John is no longer on the ballot, his last chance to get in was in `09
