Bizarre theory on Jays game tonight

    Ricky Romero will pitch well.

Romero has good stuff but some serious confidence/focus issues. Too many voices in his head.

Romero was watching from the dugout last week when Hernandez of the Mariners got lit up by the Jays.

Sometimes watching an all-star pitcher get lit-up helps one's own confidence. Romero probably sat there and realized that even the best pitchers in baseball have a bad day from time to time. Everyone is human. This likely has boosted his own confidence in a weird way, re-affirming to him that he belongs in the big leagues.

    He will pitch well tonight.

I think you're projecting a little too much on what may or may not be going through Romero's head as he watched Felix get owned.

The Jays can steal one tonight - especially with Chen on the hill. But I'm not so sure about your theory.

Jesus - you're right about the O's game. I was half-thinking about the O's/Sea match up. I still think that anything could have been going through Romero's head watching Felix.

    Not bad, fellas!

It's all about psychology. Ironic that Ricky really didn't have great stuff but looked confident on mound and pitched out of jams. Didn't get rattled.

Hope y'all incorporated this analysis into your play on the game.

The yankees have been getting themselves out by swinging at first pitches with runners on. Ricky walks alot, its beyond me why NY is trying to hack away. Ricky got lucky man

They didn't really hack away. He walked 5 guys. He was very good at getting out of jams. Got ground balls when he needed it with runners on.
