Why is Price only -130??
You'd think the future Cy Young winner would command a little bit more respect over Mike Gonzalez, especially considering he's already dominated Baltimore once this year.

Any thoughts on why the line is so low? I don't know if I'm going to take the Rays on the money line, just curious to see what some people think on this.

I think its a fair road price, considering the success Gonzalez has had (although) limited.
The Rays are still an offensively challenged team. Can they score 3 runs for Price?

28 year old rookie? Both teams are offensively in a funk so I don't think that should be an issue. We also know that no one in the Orioles lineup hits Price very well besides for Wieters (and Teaparty in 3 at bats)Originally Posted by Regul8er

Every single thing I've looked at points that way.
Baltimore 9 runs last 4 games
Rays 9 runs last 4 games
Rays don't hit righties well, Orioles middle of the pack vs lefties, Price has been best pitcher in baseball the last 6 starts... May just go under and if Rays win like 10-0 I'll kick myself repeatedly. I don't see Price giving up much at all but team total limit is tiny for me.

I wouldnt play the 28 year old rookie card...considering Vogelsong got back to the league at 34 after not pitching in the MLB for 6 years.
Some guys figure it out later in life.

as long as Gonzalez throws strikes, he should be fine. A little worried about his control. Only thing holding me back on the under.
7 at bats between 2 guys and Brian Roberts isn't alive is he? Well, if he is, he's not currently active.
The bigger bats all struggle... Hardy, Jones, Reynolds... guys you worry about taking you deep and messing up your under.

Kershaw had a complete game shut out of St Louis the previous time he faced them this season. Last night he gave up a bunch of runs.
Not sure if there is any correlation between pitchers dominating a team previously and then putting up a commanding performance in the next game.
True that. I would say there is probably a correlation between your last 6 outings and your future one. It might not be a 100% correlation but it is better than throwing darts.

Kershaw pitches in a weak offensive nl west division compared to price pitching in an offensive al east ...

I would just have expected -150 here, that's all. Too much credit been given to Gonzalez... that being said, I might be on the under because the Rays can't score that many off anyone on the road.
Price is a Vanderbilt guy. Very smart out there. Kershaw has similar stuff but he is a mental midget. I'd definitely take Price, Price would probably post a sub 2 ERA in LA LA land, Kershaw would probably get touched up to 3.75 or so in the AL East.

His era would at least be 3.5 in the al east ... Which isn't bad but it's so much different pitching in the al east vs the nl west

Well the Orioles have a better lineup and a pretty good bullpen, the 2nd 4 innings should be low scoring but i think the O's have a small advantage

gl but it's a weird line for both. price opened at -140 total at 8. public on price but the price goes down for price and the total goes all the way up to 9 and back down to 8.5/8. don't like this game too much.
