    MLB Trivia - 7/11/06

More All-Star home run stuff for y'all to ponder...

    1) Who is the only person to homer in three consecutive All-Star Games?

    2) There have been 15 pinch-hit homers in the All-Star Game. Hank Blalock hit the most recent one in 2003. How many of the other 14 can you name?

    3) How many All-Star Games have not had at least one home run hit?

    4) Only one Met has homered in the All-Star Game. Who is it?

    5) Who hit the last walk-off homer in the All-Star Game?

    5) Callison ended the 1964 game with a 3-run walk-off. Saw that highlight a few years back and I'm pretty certain nobody has hit a game-winning jack since.

    Excellent work as usual, stumpage

Callison's 3-run jack to end the 1964 contest was the last walk-off in the ASG. I still have a very clear image in my head of where I was exactly when Callison hit that home run and it remains one of my favorite All-Star Game memories.

EDIT: I miscounted on the pinch-hit homers; there have only been 14 total, counting Blalock a few years back. And by my count, the only other walk-off homer in the All-Star Game besides Callison came in 1941 by Ted Williams.

Thanks Bee...Must have been quite the thing to see when Williams hit his walk off as well. Actually, up until I saw Callison's highlight, I thought the shot by Williams was the only ASG ever to end on a walk-off. Being THE MAN of baseball triv, do you know if there were any other mid-summer classic walk offs, or are those 2 the only ones?

Those are the only two I know. Schoendienst hit a game-winning homer in 1950, but it was in the top of the 14th inning and not a walk-off job.
