youre the Yankees, would you rather play the Redsox or Rays in a playoff series?

If you were the New York Yankees, and you could hypothetically choose who you meet in a playoff series this year, against which team would you rather play?

Boston Redsox or Tampa Bay Rays Poll^

yankees redsox is better for tv ratings, rays might be an easier out. im sure there are other factors.

redsox are first in runs, first in slugging percentage, first in on base percentage. and have beaten the yankees about half the time they played this season.

rays are getting hot at the right time.

either way doesnt matter, Yankees are more worried about Texas or Detroit than the Red Sux who almost got swept by their D team and whos ace (Lester) got pulled in the 2nd inning, or the TB Rays who have very little chance of matching up with either the Yankees bats or pitching/bull pen

i agree. rangers and tigers are way more dangerous.

i was going to make "doesnt really matter to them" an option but i thought yankees fans would click that too much. so of the two, if you had to choose is the question. they are not the same (even if yanks would beat them both easily.)

I think the Yanks match up better against the Red Sox. The Rays have an excellent rotation, they can play small ball, and Maddon has been a tremendous manager with his aggressive approach. Then you factor in that the Rays are hot and they would have surpassed the Red Sox, and you're facing a team that believes in itself. I also think that the Yanks have a bigger edge in Boston than they do in Tampa, as far as the field goes. As others are stating, the real A.L teams to watch are the Tigers and Rangers. I think the Rangers take the A.L and the Phillies take the N.L. It's going to be an exciting World Series.

Ive been saying it all season long even when the Yankees were trailing the Sox, either the Phillies or Yankees win the WS no other choice imo, you can go through and argue all you want but im very confident that its either of these 2 teams that are going to win it. Im not necessarily saying that the Yankees win the AL and the phillies win the NL, just that either one of them wins it

This is about as close to a no-brainer as they come...

Right now the Sox cant picth it.

    Rays can pitch it.

    Simple as that...

    Sox cant pitch, can hit..

Rays can pitch, cant hit..(especially in playoffs)

either way, Yankees have to ruin these two..

i say rays for sure. the redsox lineup is cold maybe but they are so deep; have so many contributors that can hurt you.

    Doesnt matter

Yanks have an express ticket to the Series punched

They will roll the Tigers or Rangers

We will treat the Rangers like all those series from the late 90s. Rangers will be lucky to steal one game.

so they could essentially intentionally lose to the rays here this series to drastically increase the chances of facing them again in the playoffs. right??

Of course they prefer Rays. Boston is weak at starter, but if they have to use only 3 starters they could be decent, while the bats are dangerous. TB has quality pitchers, but offensive is not so great. Right now I see Texas as the best AL team.

Yankees can't play wild card winner if it is SOX/TB in ALDS so it doesn't matter unless were talking ALCS.

I would say tb because now your saying sox won wild card and then knocked off Texas/Det

    Yanks would rather face Tampa.

Just less pressure. Could you imagine if the Yanks lost to Boston, after this collapse? Bronxer may blow up the city.

The Redsox of course, they would stink like every year in the playoffs.
But i hope it is Boston, no other team is more overrated at the books.
