Anyone notice how often blown calls are made in favor of the big teams?

I watch a lot of Yankees and Red Sox games, and it's amazing how often blown calls are in their favor, and how rare it is to have terrible calls go against them.

Every time I watch a Yankees game, there's at least one huge blown call in their favor.

Tonight, it came in the first inning. 3-2 count to Bobby Abreu, he clearly checked his swing, and they punched him out. Amazing.

Would you file that Bobby Abreu call under "home calls"?

Maybe if this was in LA, Bobby would have been on first base.

    Maybe.

The generous strike zone, I agree with. But some umps just have a wider zone.

The Abreu call was not a judgment call. It wasn't even close.

Even the Yankee announcers were stunned by how bad a call it was.

Just happened again in the 9th.

Hunter hit a ball clearly off his foot.

    The umpire either:

    A)Wasn't watching.
B)Simply is blatantly favoring the Yankees.

They called it a fair ball and an out.

Of course it matters. Angels won anyway this time but these calls make a difference.

Just had a huge blown call.

Gardner bunts, out by a full step at first, ump calls him safe anyway. Play wasn't even close. Now it's bases loaded, no outs.

Sets up a three RBI double.

Another game handed to the Yankees by the biased umpiring.
