yeah, dq him from the cy young race cause he lasted just 3 innings. kershaw lasted 4 innings and gave up 5 runs in one of his starts.... so does he get a dq too?

pretty funny that kennedy has lower era vs. more non west teams than in division.

if voting were held today, kershaw would most likely win. but what if kennedy goes 5-0 the rest of the way and ends up 22-4 2.85 era while kershaw falters and ends up 20-7 2.70 era? and phils could clinch home field early and start resting their starters which would basically take them out of the running. gotta favor kennedy then.

i think the only guarantee here is that even if kershaw doesn't win, you won't stop gambling or posting on sbr. because people like you never keep your word.

Far greater shot then hamels?? Hamels is hands down the better pitcher and has better numbers to back it up.. wins shoukd be completely overlooked.. how can hamels have any control over not winning a gane like his two hitter last night... Kennedy is basically vance Worley

worley isn't carrying the phils to the playoffs, kennedy is with zona.

hamels won't win because he's not even the best pitcher on the phils. plus when teammates are competitors for an individual award, they often split votes.

just making a point guy. if hamels has the september i expect he will give clayton a run for his money.

Speaking of money i thought i read before the season start that kershaw was making like 600k due to his rookie contract. And dodgers are still fukkin broke unbelievable

but kennedy isn't capable of a great september?

hamels has no chance. he's 3rd best even on his own team!

    halladay >>>>>>>>> lee >>>>>>>>>> hamels

dodgers are still on the hook for all the bad contracts they gave to man-ram, jason schmidt, andruw jones, furcal and pierre. that's why.

let's just agree that the award should have been renamed the pedro martinez award and he should have won whenever he was in shouting distance

2002: 20-4 2.26 era (led league) and 239 k's (led league) and he lost to barry zito

zito should be making donations to the pedro fund

Kershaw should get it but it's close. Kemp also should be MVP but very unlikely a losing team would get both awards. How the f*ck Kemp has driven in 100 runs with no one on base is amazing.

Roy Halladay just showed everyone why he isn't going to be easy to beat for the Cy Young.

    7 shutout innings, 2 hits allowed, and 9 k's.

He and Kershaw have nearly identical ERAs now (Kershaw 2.463, Halladay 2.469, Kershaw is 17-5, Halladay is 16-5. Kershaw has 1 more start than Halladay, but Halladay has more innings pitched.

It is going to be a fun September to watch these two battle it out.

Halladay goes deeper into games. Guy is a horse. That's before you even get into strength of schedule concern.

It wouldn't be a travesty if Kershaw didn't win.
