#2982You've got to be kidding me with this Andreev-Chiudinelli match. Suspended due to darkness. Chuidinelli nearly blows I think it was a 5-1 lead in the 2nd, winning in a tie break. I left from lunch with Andreev up 5-2 in the 3rd and find it tied at 6-6. Russian Roulette, party time.
At least JCF cashed parlays for many.Comment -

#2984It's why it's never a good idea to bet Russians very often in tennis. Andreev should be in his hotel room right now having phone sex with Maria Kirilenko in celebration instead of wondering how he's going to finish choking tomorrow.Comment -

#2990Probably just sticking the doubles play on Gulbis-Tursunov which will be starting in the next half hour or so.
Anderson-Querrey OVER is a little enticing even at 23.5, but gotta kind of gauge Querrey's willingness to be here this week first perhaps. Seems like he should be getting serious for the hard court swing in the US Open Series and Anderson is as good now as he's probably ever been. He played Querrey to 3 sets in their two hard court meetings albeit they were both 2-3 years ago. Querrey only really whipped him in theiir last meeting which was on grass where Querrey is better than Anderson by a mile.Comment -

#2993I'm thinking Murray's first match against Smyczek should be interesting...I think Smyczek has had a lot of success on hardcourt and could give Murray a push in his first match in a while...maybe the handicap or over would be good picks...Murray doesn't often blow people out and he may stretch this out to get some practice in.Comment -

#2995THURSDAY
PARLAY: SEPPI + MELZER [+105]
Seppi continued his recent run of good form on clay with a 1st round win over Gonzalez. He draws Olivier Rochus here. Rochus had no problems with Petzschner in his opener, but he lost to Gonzalez just last week in Hamburg. Rochus has never been at his best on dirt, while Seppi uses the slow stuff a little bit better. So long as the Italian keeps his errors down, he should have enough to go another round. Melzer continued his solid season on clay with a finals appearance in Hamburg last week although he did fall short to Golubev. His opponent, Hajek, beat Melzer's younger brother Gerald in his opener 6-4, 6-3. The Czech has had mixed results on clay in his career with most of his success at the Challenger level. Melzer should have no excuses as far as fatigue with three solid days in between the final and his 1st match here in Croatia. If he brings a solid serve, he should get through in a couple of tight sets.Comment -

#3000CHARDY-NIEMINEN OVER 22.5 [-115]
The Fin is a good battler on dirt. Chardy is in some of his best form of the season over the past week plus as his serve has been rock steady. This tournament has been one of his best in the last three years with the Frenchman seeking his third straight QF appearance. Nieminen had some serve issues in his opener with Alves and will need to get more 1st serves in to compete. Still, as you look at his 2010 on dirt in general, he puts up a good fight. Chardy is still one that can flip the switch from on to off or off to on in the span of one set to another. He seems on now, but off is just a bad service game or two away. If the Fin improves his serve over his 1st round numbers, I think he'll give Chardy a tight match.Comment -

#3001Anderson got worn down in the 3rd with Querrey walking away with a 6-0 win in the 3rd. Nice to see Sam get things rolling as most thought this match would be tricky for him. Still like his draw a lot with Schuettler next and then maybe Baghdatis or Tipsarevic. He really should get to the final if he plays well.Comment -

#3002EaglesPhan, if you don't mind me asking do you make all your plays at 1 unit each? Or you put more units on plays you feel stronger? Thanks!Comment -

#3003I was going to take Chardy - he's found form finally - but then the rain came. Makes such a difference on clay, and will slow things down enough to help Nemo.Comment -

#3004All plays are either to win one unit for favorites, example being if the price is -120. Risking 1.2 to win 1. Or risking one unit on underdogs. Example, price is +120. Risking 1 to win 1.2. Tennis to me more than any other sport is one where if you try to make "big" bets, you can ruin a really solid run of picks with one "big" bet rather than keeping it all at the same size.Comment -
