Intertops "free" payout costs me $45

I was told that the wire is the only free method and the only fees would come from my bank! So I called my bank and they told me they would charge me $15, so i figured "not a bad deal"

I went ahead and did it. The wire came in $30 short, plus my bank charged me the $15.

Intertops said it's my bank charging the $30 because they had to use an intermediary bank for the international wire! My bank says they didn't charge me the $30!

The only reason I used this book is because of free contest money. Looks like I will not use them again! Too costly for a payout!

I will stick with BetJam and Legendz, with the free and fast payouts!

Intermediary fees, nothing they can do, and this is stated on their site.

I understand this. Just way too costly for $500 in my opinion.

Now, if I were cashing 2k, it's not too hefty of a price.

This is my first wire and I never thought the intermediary fees would be $30 when my bank charges only $15.

All international bank wires come with at least 2 fees (the intermediary bank fee and the fee your bank charges you to receive the wire).

Sometimes a 3rd fee is charged by the entity sending you the wire but Intertops does not charge a fee on their end.

Disclosure about bank wires straight from Intertops itself:
Please also note that Intertops will not cover any local bank fees that may arise.
Please contact your bank for information regarding fees charged to receive the Wire. If your bank requires an Intermediary Bank to process the incoming wire, an additional $30 may be charged. These fees are beyond our control and will not be covered by Intertops.com.

    thanks for the info!
I understood all of this, but when I called my bank before hand, they said only $15 and I even told them that it would be international. So i guess i can be mad at my bank!

like I said, this is my first wire...so lesson learned (the hard way)!

I guess I should have used a different title. I don't want to sound like Intertops ripped me off or anything! They got my wire to me pretty quick (3 days), so I guess that's not bad! I just don't like to pay fees for such little money. If i were to bet thousands, then these fees wouldn't hurt as much.

You find a shop that pays 2 and only charges $40 and you tell me.

You are right Joe, you can't afford (none of us can) to give away almost 10% of your wins in the transaction phase. Whether Intertops is covered or not by policy I agree with you that's way too expensive to keep doing business with them.
