    Suffice to say, we have not been told by the GC if a progress report was indeed received by 6th January. This is almost 6 weeks ago! If any of you are in contact with media outlets and journalists, please stress this point to them.
    I rang the GC the day after the deadline expired. All they did was amend the statement to say they were in regular contact with Canbet.

    Here is something I have found from the, Department of Culture, Media and Sport.gov.ok
    If canbet are up to date on their tax, than more than likely this department wont
    go after them. But on the site it says,
    If they find an offence may have been committed, they’ll send a report to the appropriate authority, who will decide whether to carry out a criminal investigation.

    I think they will definitely have a look at Canbet but again we will all have to send our complaints here.

    Ok, I just said most of us, not all of us. And you are right, they will probably ignore us, but if they receive for example 30+ mails regarding one case, maybe they will become interested in story. I didn't have bad intentions, just little to animate people for action.

    Most people in the uk are doing there best to help, we are all owed money and want these tossers brought to justice, I have contacted many links be it papers, government links I just hope somebody listens to our cause, keep the faith

    Even if you're not a UK player you should still get in touch with the UK media. It would appear that the Gambling Commission has failed to protect Canbet players worldwide. Not just the British ones and should be exposed for what they are. I think once this is over the Gambling Commission as you know it will have been completely remodelled or disbanded completely.

    If you've had a FOI refusal it's worth asking for a review then appealing to Information Commissioner as it's unlikely they can withhold everything. The whatdotheyknow website may be useful.

    Those in the UK can email their MP via the writetothem web site.

    Dear Sir/Madam
    I would like to report a crime of fraudulent activity by a UK licenced called Canbet.
    Canbet sports bookies UK Ltd.
    Building 3 Chiswick, High Road
    London
    W45YA

    From early Oct 2013, Canbet claimed that there was a problem with their IT banking software.
    That they could not get the money back to their customers. Yet they could take in deposits
    By 28 different ways. Canbet claimed that they were working around the clock, manually processing withdrawals, yet very little people were getting paid. Some times as little as 2 people a week were paid.
    We believe that this is a lie as Canbet excuses changed over time and to many broken promises
    about payments. During this time Canbet were actively sending out emails to the public inviting them to join, with up to a 100% deposit bonus. Pyramid scheme comes to mind.

    A lot of Canbet customers complained to The Gambling Commission during this time.
    And a lot of customers are angry with the Gambling Commission for letting Canbet trade for
    3 months without paying their customers.
    The Gambling Commission response was that they could do nothing unless we received confirmation that we were not going to get paid.
    On the 31/12/13 Canbet stopped trading. Customers received emails off canbet telling us that to contact another company in India with our complaints.
    On the 1/1/14 the Canbet directors set up other businesses in Austrailia.

    On the 6/1/14 TGC received an audit for Canbet saying that they could cover their liabilities.
    We believe the Canbet directors, Mr Peter Lord and Graham White acted fraudulently
    During their time as Directors of Canbet. Around Ł750,000 or more of customers money has not been repaid.
    All County Court judgements have been ignored by Canbet.
