If, as was reported, they've laid off all their staff, it's hardly surprising that you won't receive prompt responses.

    Latest...

I wanted to update you personally as to the status of your payment as I understand that you have taken a legal option to retrieve your funds.

As we are heading to the conclusion of our audit process, it has been discovered that the bonuses triggered within our IT system have far exceeded what has been reported. This has caused a great disparity in the Sportsbook balances that clients are eligible to withdraw and the actual balances that were reported to our management.

In order to ensure that each individual account with Canbet is displaying the correct balance, we have undergone a significant review which has delayed your payment and those of others.

We are fully aware that it’s been reported on various social media outlets that our customers will not be paid. I wish to make it clear to you that these statements are completely false and have never come from within the company. The UK Gambling Commission is fully aware of our circumstances and is working with us to try and resolve the matter as quickly as possible.

We fully appreciate and understand that you have the right to exercise your legal rights. I would ask that you hold this option open until the Tuesday 28th January, in which time we believe all our payment issues will be resolved.

I completely understand your anger and frustrations with the recent issues. Please appreciate that our intention is to pay you as quickly as possible and we are working hard to fix the current issues.

I thank you for your understanding.

    Regards

    Director

push the legal angle if its sufficient funds to bother, that way they will be forced to pay you first to avoid insolvency. It would take them all of 30mins to reconcile your account, so the idea that they would not pay someone who is commencing legal action simply because they are worried about the account having had incorrect bonuses applied is a blatant falsehood and a stalling tactic. Don't delay, every day reduces your chances.

I suspect they may be considering removing bonuses from accounts (and maybe any winnings on the bonuses as well).

Same here Mart. £2.6k since 8th October, usual bs from CS, sounds like they are merely trying to set up a defence to say "oh those bonuses that you received were and accident so we're going to remove this plus any winnings" which I suspect would wipe out most peoples withdrawl requests. Positively a load of crock as their email system were bombarded week on week with questions and requests regarding these "bonuses sent from a system malfunction that no-one at Canbet knew about" - ha its such a laughably bad excuse, the fact that the GC seem to be buying it clearly show what a bunch of muppets this lot are too. Really does point to the GC being a waste of space for a commission that worryingly is going to be controlling all UK wagers in the not to near future because of the "added protection they'll give to punters". I suspect another book that is fairly new (also licensed by GC) is having similar issues after reports of month+ no pays and typical "techincal issues" excuses. I'm getting a little disillusioned with online betting recently and have started simply going to shops.

I think the above customer got a personal message from Peter Lord because they are at a stage in the legal process where they could freeze Canbets accounts. Think there would be uproar if they try to massage our balances by removing winnings from bonuses. A little more hopeful we may finally be paid, one day.

    Thank you for your email.

The previous software fix has not rectified the current problem to the satisfaction of management and as a result this has lead to management taking this decision to temporarily cease trading until we can integrate a final technical solution, (which we are currently working on). The UK Gambling Commission has been notified of this decision.

Canbet apologise for the delayed payment issue and fully understand your frustration. Canbet has informed the UK Gambling Commission and we have assured them that ALL customer payments will continue to be paid as previously notified.

As part of our current software upgrade, the company are launching a new state of the art sportsbook and a mobile betting platform in the coming weeks.

Again Canbet apologises for the delay in payments and we will keep you posted with updates on our technical progress, which we are working around the clock to resolve.

Oh yeah, they gave us wrong bonuses, how yes no . 100 % bonus with 12x rollover, I don't see nothing wrong here. Many bookmakers offer bonuses with lower rollover requirements. They claim that as system error, I am not sure that they have so intelligent system which can compose emails with bonus offer and send to us. We must be ready for 29th January, to put some pressure to Canbet and GC, because everyone with any amount of brain knows that no money will be paid.

I replied to the bonus offer and asked if my account was eligible and a human replied and confirmed that I was.

    Unfortunately.

    Canbet stolen me 3100euros.

They reset my balance for no reason on 28 december 2013.
    obviously they are not traceable.
I wrote to UK gambing commission and they do not know what to do.
Since Uk gambling commission have to ensure transparency, security, they are responsible for this shameful thing and they have to ensure that Canbet pay me. If Canebt don't pay me, I demand that Uk Gambling commission pay me. It's a fraud.
    I don't give 3.100euros to those thieves.

the thing that makes me most angry is that the uk gambilng allows the existence of these crappy sites

I thought playing at an English or Australian Book meant your funds were protected by those jurisdictions. Back when Americans could play there, that was their main selling point over Costa Rica, etc. Sad what has happened to Canbet. When they were in Australia, they were right at the top.

Just spoken to GC and we've all accepted t and c's which included

"Your Account is not a bank account and is therefore not insured, guaranteed, sponsored or otherwise protected by any deposit or banking insurance system or by any other similar insurance system. Any monies deposited with us in Your Account shall not attract any interest. Monies deposited with us are held under a normal bank account in the name of the appropriate Canbet company and are not subject to special trust arrangements. As such, we do not provide particular protection for the monies deposited in Your Account in the event of our insolvency."

    WE ARE SCREWED!!!!

So playing with a licensed book in the UK is about as safe as playing with one in Costa Rica. Way to go Gambling Commission you just threw a black cloud over everyone under your licensing regime.

Hi guys, it's my first post here - I've not been paid from canbet since early October and I'm going to submit small claim. Can anyone who has already done it advise me in that matter? I was calling MCOL, but they don't give legal advice and were of little help.
First thing is whether it's fine if I give my family's UK correspondence address (it is required to be from the UK, but I'm not UK resident and live outside, anyone had similar problem?).
Second is calculation of claim amount: did you claim interest as well (t&c say that canbet accounts shall not attract any interest therefore I'm wondering) or just plain amount?
Finally, how should I recalculate the amount into pounds if account was run in different currency - should I simply apply exchange rate valid on claim's date or what?

I hope someone can help with these questions. I'll be really grateful for any answers.
Or maybe you know some online address that I might get help from.

Seems that canbet had intention to collect as much as possible money(offering very big bonus offer to attract people) and then to disappear. IGAS remove all serviced sites from their list and also remove all directors from list of board of directors. When you contact IGAS you contact canbet in fact, because you receive respond from canbet mail address. Obviously directors take our money and go on some exotic island. As I see every bookmaker can do similar thing, because no licensing authority have no intention to protect players. I really don't know for what they receive their wages, and what is their real job. Maybe this will be the biggest steal in the history of online betting. I am not informed but does anyone know if there is some bookmaker which stole more than 250000 eur (as I read somewhere for this case)?

You probably just wasting your time and money. Many people already do small claims but no one haven't any success(or did not report on forums). Maybe something will change in future but I am highly suspicious about that. You have smiffywhu's post above where you can see that you can say bye bye for your money in case that canbet is insolvent, which is obviously case now.

But it says on the Canbet site "These terms were last updated on 15th November, 2013".
