It's a real common thing I see. People do their neighbor a favor and then say "well the guy cuts this 2x6 strip of grass for me every two weeks so we're even." Christmas comes around and suddenly the neighbor wants you to check his place daily for amazon packages and mail. DO NOT feel pressured to say yes.
Remember, you don't owe your neighbors SHIT. If they do something for you without asking, there is NO DEBT. Keep your head up high when you see them shoveling snow or cutting the grass. It's their choice to do your side.
This one jerkoff I know asked his neighbor to watch his mail while he was gone a month. When he came back he went over with a thank you card and a $50 gift card. What a finook! The neighbor did the sharp thing and rejected the gift, he didn't want to start the unstoppable train of favor trading.
Guys be a professional like me and hire a personal household manager or PHM we say ---- they will handle your mail, grass, snow, furnace filter and even batch cooking for your freezer.
